PENA TANGLES WITH BECERRA IN THE BARRIO

By Juan Montoya
We had heard from different sources that Ruben Peña, the defeated candidate who lost to Ernie Hernandez in the runoff for Cameron County commissioner of Precinct 2 was knocking on doors of those people who had voted through the mail.
Apparently, Peña is hoping that he can cower enough elderly and homebound people who voted through the mail to recant their votes to persuade a visiting judge from Hidalgo to overturn the results where he lost by 49 votes to Hernandez or get the judge to order another election.
"He is asking them who they voted for and if they knew who they were voting for," said a source. "He's trying to scare some of them by telling them that they were videotaped when their ballot was filled out. Many of them have called us to tell us that he's trying to scare them and sign an affidavit saying that a politiquera filled the form and that they didn't know who they voted for."
However, imagine Peña's surprise when he knocked on a door in Brownsville's west side and an elderly lady opened the door. Instead of just the lady being there, Peña discovered that his nemesis, politiquera par excellence Herminia Becerra, just happened to be visiting the woman.
She, of course, quickly assailed Peña on his claim that her mail-in votes (she said she mailed about 140 of them) in the runoff election were fraudulent.
"How about the ones that got Blanca Vela (his relative) into the Brownsville mayor's position?" Herminia asked him. "They were the same ones I mailed out this time. Why didn't you claim fraud that time when she won?"
Stunned by the attack, Peña could only look for a way out the door, but even then, Herminia beat him to the punch.
"Vayase mucho a ching-- su mauser," Becerra was said to have yelled at Peña's quickly retreating rump. "Viejo lloron."

That is Becerra's story, but we all know she exagerates.

She was telling everyone that Ernie paid her 3,000 and Margarita Ozuna 2,000 for the mail-in votes, if that is true, then the Feds are right on track.

En boca cerrada no entra mosca!

Herminia Becerra has devoted more than 20 years to Brownsville in helping to campaign for politicians. Buying votes for loosing candidates? You mean losing. & no she does not do such things. Learn your grammar and speak correctly before you decide to post something. Que verguenza para usted, que no sabe como hablar correctamente.
