PENA'S FULL-COURT PRESS BACKFIRES

By Juan Montoya

Sylvia Cisneros is livid.
The Las Prietas barrio saleswoman of wheelchairs and other necessities of the aged and handicapped was working door-to-door along Old Port Isabel Road on the other side of town when she got a call from her 86-year-old mother Guadalupe.
Her brother Jose Alberto, was having a seizure as a result of an unwanted visitor at their home.
"My mother weighs about 115 pounds and he weighs about 260 pounds," she said. "My brother suffers from a seizure disorder. There is no way she could handle him when he has a seizure."
While the Cisneros have grown accustomed to Jose going into seizure occasionally, this time the seizure did not come about as a result of a chemical or physical imbalance.
"A man with a badge and a gun showed up at out door and threw a subpoena and $10 at my mother's feet after he knocked and she opened the door," said Sylvia Cisneros. "Then my brother walked out of his bathroom and when he saw the man with the badge and the gun he went back into his room. The officer followed him in the house and threw the papers and the money at him. He's not well, and when the officer left, he stressed out and went into a seizure."
Both Guadalupe and Jose Alberto Cisneros voted through the mail in the runoff race for Cameron County Precinct 2. Now, as a result of the challenge to those ballots by losing candidate Ruben Pena, they were visited by the process server hired by Pena's lawyers.
The Cisneros identified the process server a former Cameron County Sheriff candidate Rick Herrera and they have gone to the Brownsville Police Department, who sent them to the sheriff's department, who in turn sent them to local constables. In each case they were told that Herrera was not one of their officers and that there was nothing they could do.
And in an unprecedented occurrence, a large number of persons called KGBT, a Spanish-language station, to complain about Herrera alleging he abused his authority by harassing and verbally abusing them when he served them with the subpoenas. (El Rrun-Rrun is attempting to obtain a recording of the complaints from the radio station).
However, that is not sitting well with Sylvia Cisneros, who was on her way to the 700 Building where Pena's law office is located.
"The lawyers who sent Herrera to my home were hired by Pena," she said. "I want to know what gives them the right to come into my house without our permission. How can someone just go into someone's house and walk in without permission? My brother was scared and went into seizure because that man with a badge and a gun (Herrera) just walked in after him and threw the papers in front of his door. I want to know who's responsible for this."
Pena, who is attempting to gather enough witnesses to overturn the election results that resulted in his loss to Ernie Hernandez by 49 votes, apparently is resorting in trying to get enough voters to say they did not know who they voted fr when politiqueras mailed in their ballots.
But for Sylvia Cisneros, the methods his attorneys and process servers are using smack of intimidation and coercion.
"This is not right," she said. "They can't allow this kind of behavior to continue like this. Now we're really glad we didn't vote for him. If he doesn't watch out, he might end up getting charged and sued himself."

(P.S. To anonymous: Thanks for your editorial corrections and your civility in pointing them out.)

Calling this Pena's fault makes you look desparate. If I read something you write and it so upsets me that I stroke out, is the stroke your fault? Of course not. There are so many real issues it just looks pathetic when you have to reach so far for so little.

Do I send omeone someone with a gun and a a badge knocking on your PC so you can read this posting? I think you log on to this site volunatarily. Your analogy, in my opinion, is spurious.

Te chingaste al mescalero Juan. Pobre pendejo. I think that trying to compare voluntarily reading your blog vs having an armed person chasing you all over your own house, is truly stupid and pathetic. People need to have a brain to post here.

The definition of Mescal is rot gut tequila. Seems to pride himself in calling himself that. Probably does have a brain, but while under the influence of mescal, it (obviously) literally just turns to liquid shit.

You all are getting away from the fact, that politiqueras are harvesting votes for money.

YOU WANT TO PLAY THE GAME!
YOU HAVE TO FEEL THE PAIN!

NOW THEY ARE BEING SERVED!

You are right. No one makes me read your blog and maybe it was not a good analogy but you are smart enough to know what I meant and you opted to ignore it. And though you clearly have your own agenda, as you should, I thought better of you.

And "The definition of Mescal is rot gut tequila. Seems to pride himself in calling himself that. Probably does have a brain, but while under the influence of mescal, it (obviously) literally just turns to liquid shit."

By the way, mescal isn't rot gut tequila, mescal is Mescal. Rot gut tequila is just bad tequila. Also, Mescalero may not refer to alcohol at all.

(Also, Mescalero may not refer to alcohol at all)

So you are some type of Native American? Then I'll take back my original definition.

I believe Rick Herrera did his duty as a police officer. If He(RICK)had to follow, almost chase that guy, then he, (the guy)is lucky that Herrera didnt arrest him for fleeing, or what the cops call it evading. Rick Herrera is a great person, and aside from that is well trained. The other agencies knew that Herrera had done nothing wrong, thats why they knew they could not do anything.
I for one, am voting for Rick Herrera if he decides to run again. For one, he is now a strong Democrat, two, he is one who still has good views for this County. Anyway Lucio, at almost $100.000, you think he is outthere trying to remedy crime solving techniques, well, neither is Gus Reyna, he cant seem to leave chillis restaurant for even a while after being there since 2pm, on some days. Yes, during County time, and on the County vehicle. Those are the ones that people should go after, not good officers like Rick Herrera. Also people, my advise to you, if an officer comes to your door open the door, they are there to help not to hurt you. If you try to hide or run away, if they are good like Herrera they will find you. Rick Herrera continue doing a good job. We support people who are against the corruption.

It was a little different at Amigo del Via near Pace. A friend -95 yrs- of ours was confronted by a lady, who said she would have to get out of her home or go to jail. Then this same lady called the ladies caretaker and told her she was sick and should stay with her.
The misery is being pushed on both sides. It still starts and ends with the politiqueras. I think 60 questionable votes were identified just there.
