RRUNRRUN CARRYING H20 FOR CHEEZMEH? OR, UNO NUNCA SABE PARA QUIEN TRABAJA! QUE POCA!

(Ed.'s Note: It is said that imitation is the highest form of flattery, but really guys! We've kind of gotten used to local bloggers taking credit for "breaking" this or that story, and for our posts to appear in other cyberpages under a different heading or without attributing any credit whatsoever. But that latest post by Erasmo (and Linda) Castro's Cheezme page taking credit for the photos and post that we did over a two-day period is a bit much. We first posted the complaint on the obsolete street banners from one of our readers who sent us the photo (you know who you are) of the banners on Central Blvd. Then the following day we posted the photo that we took ourselves of PUB crews removing one from Boca Chica Blvd. (and now from Central Blvd. as well). Well, imagine our surprise to find out that it had been Erasmo and Linda's self-proclaimed CheezmeNation that had taken the photos and published them in the post instead of us! That, as Mrs. Frances Verner used to say, is rich. Below (in order of appearance) are our posts. And below that, are the posts published by the plagiarist duo taking the credit. Go figure. The thing that counts is that the out-of-date banners are no longer waving embarrassing all of us. Always look for the silver lining, we guess. Uno no sabe para quien trabaja!)

It is interesting in this town that information about a public event usually goes out late and then never goes away. Look at all the "old" political campaign signs that linger from years ago. The Brownsville Herald is a great supporter of this "get the new out late" mentality....the Herald really "heralds" old or inconsequential news. If the Herald didn't have the ability to copy from the national, international and regional news services....there would be nothing but advertisements and garbage in the Herald. The only reason to subscribe to the Herald is to have something to put on the floor of a bird cage or under the kitty litter. It is amazing that when anything is being given away free....the word gets out faster by "word of mouth". Chisme R Us.

Cheezmeh does provide a good service to this community. The only negative to them is that at times they take credit like in this story, for other people's efforts.
