MATA MAYOR CONFRONTED BY MOTHER OF SLAIN SIBLNGS; DEMANDS FOR JUSTICE IN THE CASE RAIN ON HER PARADE

By Juan Montoya
If Matamoros Mayor Letty Salazar thought that crossing the Gateway Bridge and participating in the Charro Days International Parade would shelter her from the violence in her city, she was in for a surprise.
As Salazar's car drove up Elizabeth Street and approached 10th Street (by the HEB), she was met by the mother of the three U.S. siblings who were abducted and murdered, allegedly by members of the Grupo Hercules, Salazar's personal body guards and paramilitary force.
A large sign in blood-red colors demanded justice from Letty Salazar, and called her an "asesina" (murderer).
The mother of the three Americans, Raquel Alvarado of nearby Progreso, Texas, has accused the mayor of responsibility for the deaths of her children. But the mayor herself has now distanced herself from the police unit, and disavowed responsibility for it.
"Dame la cara, asesina!," shouted Alvardo at her as Salazar passed by. "Demandamos que se haga justicia por la muerte de mis hijos."
Salazar remained stoic and sought to ignore Alvarado's challenge.
State officials have said that nine Hércules officers are under investigation, and the Mexican federal justice department has taken over the case.
Alvarado’s ex-husband, Pedro Alvarado, who lives in El Control in the western boundaries of the Matamoros municipio, interviewed witnesses to the kidnapping of his children, Erica, 26, Alex, 22, and José Angel, 21, and Erica’s boyfriend, Mexican citizen José Guadalupe Castañeda Benitez, 32.
He learned that men in military-style uniforms had beaten their victims, put hoods over their heads and taken them away in armored trucks bearing the coat of arms of the Matamoros city government. The officers identified themselves as part of Grupo Hércules and warned witnesses against speaking about what they had seen.
Pedro Alvarado continued searching for his children for the next 16 days, during which time he and his son Pedro Jr. discovered the victims’ missing vehicles, a Jeep Cherokee and Chevrolet Tahoe, at a car dealership and customs brokerhouse run by her director of Social Development Luis Biasi.
The plates had been removed but some of the owners’ belongings remained inside.
After a heated argument with the lot’s manager, the latter relented and the cars were moved to the street, but not until he had made a phone call. Members of Grupo Hércules soon showed up, leading the Alvarados to believe they had been the recipients of the call.
Biasi was later arrested and jailed on charges of money laundering and was freed after posting a substantial bail. When Salazar introduce the Grupo Hercules, Biasi was named as one of its commanders.
Alvardo's call for justice has been supported by U.S. Rep. Filemon Vela who has asked the Mexican government n for an accounting on the murdered siblings and 85 other missing American citizens in northern Tamaulipas. He has reportedly invited her to testify before the congressional committee investigating border violence.

The mayos of Brownsville are alike in their ability to distance themselves from the reality of terror on the border. As long as our elected officials deny the terror and ignore citizens calls for justice.... Both cities will continue
to prosper. Tony Martinez iOS an egomaniac who continually disrespects the citizens by denying them a voice in public policy.

Let's see if the piece of shit newspaper will show this on the front page.

Ok, lets get the other side of the story, the truth, it does not justify their killings, but Jose worked for the Cartel and Alex and Jose were polleros. Please lets not for a minute think that these were good boys...ck their criminal records, and if they held decent jobs... and you will be surprised....

PLEASE LETS NOT COMPARE THESE GUYS, WITH THE MISSING VETS, TOTALLY DIFFERENT CHARACTERS.

She should have never been permitted to participate in the parade. Three Americans known dead and two missing in the past few months leaves a real cloud over our neighbor just to the south. The "everything is great everything is wonderful" attitude of our city officials just exacerbates and fuels the culture of
impunity of both sides of the river.

Tony Mtz. Is a stupid worthless mayor For allowing this butch to participate in the parade. He knows what's going on......

Mrs. Alvarado is being coached and used by corrupt PRI party members who want everyone to believe that the Mayor was behind this. They want to discredit all the positive changes that have done away with the old PRI that ruled for so many years. The goal is to have the PRI back in power in the city. Come on people wake up and smell the coffee.

C'mon man, that banner looks so photoshopped.

I applaud Mrs. Alvarado for protesting. The voices of thousands of families with missing or murdered loved ones speak through her voice.

You're stupid! Lots of people were around and saw it....

This lady has impressive power just ask Robert Avitia former commander of our BPD and current Mr. Amigo president she order him that Mr. Amigo had to arrive in Matamoros and Avitia said yes the reason a very close encounter between her and Pablo Montero in her matamoros house under the ok of Robert Avitia
Osorio and entourage arrived to matamoros Wednesday at 10:00am they got to brownsville well until 7:00pm the same day!!!
Leticia Salazar and her entourage got total access to the events without paying a single dollar and to her unlimited power got far more than that when she brought her armed bodyguards under the ok of the security in charge of Rolando Avitia
It's ok because Robert Avitia is a master
In the art of hidding.
Bless the lord brother.

I'm sad I didn't see Erin and Ernie in the parade this year :(

They were the only reason I would go camp out and make sure I could get front row seats. Yeah right! I'd rather eat the horse shit that's left behind than see those two whales any day.

Dumb and annoying . ....give the "naco" bit a rest .

Agreed. Also give the "dumbocrat" bit a rest. It was funny the first 482 times but it got old, dude. And the "Cameron County doesn't accept corruption, they demand it" also got old. We get it.

I wonder if the lady protested about her kids being involved in organized crime. I understand the boyfriend was a gopher for the cartel, the guys were polleros, the girl and very possible the mom would house illegals.... Just wondering....
