GUESS WHO'S BACK? WOULD TOU BELIEVE AWOL ESTELA?

By Juan Montoya
The last time we saw Estela Chavez-Vasquez was when she got caught holding a seat on the City of Brownsville Commission while trying out her new crib in Los Fresnos.
In fact, we never saw her at all when she quit the position that she had convinced the city voters he wanted to have so she could represent them.
It took (of all people) commissioner Rose "La Chisquiada" Gowen to tell us that our little Estela was gone for good never to return.
In her letter of resignation to the city, she said that due to “circumstances beyond my control” she would unable to complete her term that ended this past May. She was elected in 2011.
Well, if it seemed too good to be true, it was.
She now wants to be the judge at the new County Court-at-Law Number 5, a countywide post.
She made her announcement yesterday at Toscafino's, a popular hangout for young lawyers in love.
We know that there are several other candidates for this position that pays $150,000, so Estela might want to save her pennies for the long haul.
The immediate question that comes to mind is: "If you couldn't fulfill your duties as a city commissioner and quit only when you got caught living in another jurisdiction, what makes you think the voters will fill in the oval for you this time?"

Not again. This lady is just in it for the perks. Hardly voiced anything while being commissioner. Nombre, not another term.

Can't make a living as an attorney because she is too lazy to show up to work, so a job on the government tit looks good to her. That way she can not show up and it will be ok.

Exactly! Sounds like you're describing Erin too!

Robles is well experienced.

Erin would at least show up to work. These two new JP's suck ass.

We are glad to see Noe Robles running for Judge. He is experienced and an individual of integrity and humbleness. We don't know this lady but, our large organization is for Noe.

Noe Robles, was my attorney. He is well qualified for this position.

Robles, like Estela, both stepped down from their elected positions! Robles was a Judge back in 1996 & left the bench before his term ended & well Estela we all know she left her city commission position before her term ended too.

Have him as judge again! No, he had his chance and stepped down from a a position that people like us elected him in to....for what so he can quit...no thank you.

Noe Robles court 5 candidate did step down as well as Dan Robles court 4 candidate. Both Robles compadres do not have my vote nor my family's vote. Why vote for them when they had their chance and bailed out????? We need new blood....My 2 cents.

☝yes, you are right, both those judges at the time, stepped down before their term ended. Estela, although not a judge, stepped down as a city commissioner before her term ended as well. We are left with a few candidates, in both CC4 & CC5, who are not known as quitters!
