WHY DIDN'T WIGHTMAN THINK OF THIS $2,000 SCAM?

(Ed's Note: Believe it or not, a law firm in Austin has issued a demand letter to a Richland Hills clinic (action Therapy Services)  because it alleges that the clinic's website is not compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Attorney Omar Rosales says that he is disabled and that the website did not permit him to access and obtain information about medical clinics, doctor's offices, and urgent care centers. Rosales claims that the ADA and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.9 AA).

Rosales also threatened the clinic with snitching on them to Medicaid, Medicare, and the Children's Health Insurance Partnership, with whom the clinic had agreed to comply with the website requirements.

Along with his demand letter for $2,000, Rosales also lists the parts of the website that he alleged "failed" to meet the standards in the guidelines. This is creative, to say the least, but then again some lawyers (and former lawyers) have found novel ways to milk the legal cash cow time and time again. How about local guys with websites, will they come under legal scrutiny of litigants as well?)

I'm so sick of crippled people I can't see straight! Used to be they'd endure their condition with quiet dignity, earning the respect and compassion of those they encountered. Now the freaks do nothing but bitch and moan and cram their misery down everybody elses throat. Fuck 'em. The only good thing about the Americans with disabilities Act is that it's funny to watch 'em struggle while they try to perform a task
