It should be called: The Importance of Being Tony Zavaleta. Same old boring shit about curanderos and Nino Fidencio, stuff he puts people to sleep with BUT WAIT!!! Its now new and improved with his conversion from pretentious community college teacher to chest thumping Tejano, one of a million nascent descendants of Juan Cortina, the bandit who killed and terrorized Americans. The only new thing is that Zavaleta is a college trustee so the college has to accomodate the babbling dotard.

Life is interesting down here. His mother was a gringa and his father considered himself to be a Spaniard". The was Anthony/Tony until it because advantageous to be a "Hispanic" in order to be published and get ahead in Browntown as a politician. Now he is Antonio, the South Texas Mexican and champion of Mexican heritage, history and culture.

They used to say, when speaking of Michael Jackson, that only in America could a poor black boy grow up to be a rich white woman. Well only in the Valley can a half breed Spaniard grown up to be a raging Mexican.

El cacheton! All of Tony Zavaleta's branch of the family tree look like they stopped evolving into humans at some point.
