EMPEROR TONY MARTINEZ VOTED SOB OF THE YEAR

By Juan Montoya
If you have a chance, log in to the City of Brownsville website and watch the Oct. 17 meeting of the city commission.

Go to the approval of the minutes item on the agenda and watch an imperious mayor at work. If the taped meeting isn't posted yet, take the time to see it. It shows a despot at work.

In one fell swoop, Hizzoner Da Mayor Tony Martinez disenfranchised half of the voters of Brownsville.

When commissioners Jessica Tetreau and Ricardo Longoria tried to speak out about her vote on the nomination of Steve Guerra to the board of the Greater Brownsville Incentives Corporation, Martinez summarily denied them the forum to which the voters of Brownsville gave them by electing them.

We have often derided both of the commissioners on this page. Sometimes they are trivial in their pursuit for personal glory. Often they are used as tools for special interests. Yet, this does not give Martinez any right to silence their voices on the commission meetings.

The issue was Tetreau's attempt to correct the minutes to show she had cast a "aye" vote for Steve Guerra, a local businessman with extensive ties to the Matamoros business community. This is not as strange as it sounds. Most, if not all, local business people have some kind of tie to Mexico. We are, after all, on the border.

Tetreau had attempted to have city secretary Griselda Rosas change the minutes to reflect her "aye" vote on the minutes and submitted an affidavit to have her change what Martinez had decreed a non-vote. When she tried to object, as did Longoria, he imperiously shut them up, even to the point where he threatened to have Longoria escorted by the police out of the chamber.

Tetreau said that two commissioners next to her (Longoria and Cesar de Leon) had heard her say "aye" and could vouch for her, but Martinez denied her or Longoria the right to explain their objection to having the minutes changed. Instead, he silenced them and – with the support of commissioner Ben Neece – rolled roughshod over their constituency. Neece went as far as handing her affidavit on the Guerra vote to the chief of the Brownsville Police Department so he could investigate if she had committed "perjury."

Then they all voted for the appointment of Nurith Galonsky to the GBIC board. Yes, Galonsky, of the Casa del Nylon infamy. After all the complains against having the same people from the same old families running this city to the ground, they chose a Galonsy to the GBIC which controls an annual budget of $5 million in incentives for economic development.

We know we should not visit the sins of the father upon the children, but look at what $2.3 million bought us. It is a shell of a building which has no use whatsoever apart from putting cold hard cash in the pocket of the mayor's friend. In fact, it's a magnet for homeless people and their pooches.

We hate to part ways with our friend Neece on this one, but like commission De Leon, we have to call a spade a spade. Martinez has so downgraded our political representation that what passes for representative democracy is now a theocracy personified in Emperor Martinez.

Well, fuck me to tears ! Way to go, Juan! Once again, our City Commission goes against the best interest of the community . Fuck you, Mayor! Fuck you, Neece ! Double fuck you , Mungia ! Pure slime balls !

We are watching you Ben Neece. Your benefactor, Galonsky, will not get another one of our tax dollars from the city coffers. His daughter on the GBIC will not be able to vote to give her family businesses any of our tax money, pendejo.

Surely seems like Tony Martinez is in lock-step with the current Liberal Snowflakes that seem more "fascist" than just liberal. Tony Martinez seems to agree with radical leftist groups who want to deny others the right to free speech. The Democratic Party and elected Democrats like Tony, seek to shut down all who don't agree with them. Tony Martinez has failed this city and now we see our city government falling apart because of his failure to provide oversight for city operations. There is an old saying that "A fish stinks from its head"....well Tony is the "head" of this stinking city. Tony Martinez doesn't have the ability to repair the cracks in this city....he is not a leader, a poor manager, and has proven to serve only his friends and himself. He has shown by his lack of action on the racist Cesar de Leon and his continued support of Charlie Cabler; his failure to act on the "drama" surrounding Carlos Elizondo; his real estate fiasco and his failure to be a city leader that we cannot expect his to successfully manage the recovery of all the damage to the city during his tenure as Mayor.

And we notice that Rose Z. Gowen was not present for this meeting. Was she out riding her bicycle so as to avoid "the dirty business" of the city? She speaks up for issue important to her, but never seems to speak out or "be around" for dealing with difficult issues. But, we must remember, she is part of the City Commission and has consistently voted with Emperor Tony Martinez. Rose Gowen obviously doesn't have the moral courage to oppose Tony Martinez in order to better serve the citizens of Brownsville.

There is no link to the taped Commission Meeting on the City of Brownsville web page. However, the video-tape of the October 17, 2017 has been uploaded to the You-Tube channel.

Click the following link to view the tape where discussion of the approval of minutes begins: City Commission Meeting 10/17/2017

There was a Point of Order properly called by a Commissioner and the Mayor completely ignored it.

In Robert's Rules of Order Newly Revised (RONR), a point of order may be raised if the rules appear to have been broken. This may interrupt a speaker during debate, or anything else if the breach of the rules warrants it. The point is resolved before business continues.

The Mayor was completely wrong.

Good for you on that fucking Neece. He's a Judas!!!!

His time is coming, ol slick willie.

The Commissioners can put in drug testing for themselvves, if they want too. Who would pass that? Maybe not one, maybe all but one.

I guess we are truly lucky in Brownsville to have dictators serve us on elected offices
and if it was OK for Escobedo to do it to Caty, why should Mayor Mechudo not do the same with Jessica and Rick. He is a lawyer, right, and should know Roberts' Rules of Order, just as good as the little elementary kids on the student council. Maybe they should teach their mayor what that is all about.

Do you know something?

The grandson of the original mobster himself.

Did any of you hear her vote "Aye" for the appointment of Guerra at the 10/3/17 meeting? No ... she didn't. She tried to come in, later, and get the City Secretary to change her vote. The Mayor caught her and brought it to the Commission, they way she should have done: by correcting the minutes during the regular meeting. Instead, she took the Statement under Penalty of Perjury to the City Secretary (Rick's girl) and tried to unilaterally change the minutes to reflect a falsehood. No where on the recording did she vote "Aye." Even after the Mayor announced the vote was 2 for and 2 against, she didn't speak up. She lied, plain and simple. You condone that Juan? Good for Neese for calling her bullshit. I hope they prosecute her for perjury, or do you morons feel it's ok to lie. I know you expect corruption, but do we have to add lying to the mix of things we accept down here? She lied again during the 10/17/17 meeting by claiming she voted "Aye." She's a joke. The Mayor and Neese called her out and all she can say is "she has a right to vote." No one said she didn't have a right to vote. She just didn't vote. So, go Mayor and go Neese. Screw these liars, cheaters and crooks.

We know we should not visit the sins of the father upon the children......Then don't Juan. Give a girl a chance. Like young commissioner Cesar. I like anyone who has fired 3 top bureaucrats from our over populated and inneffectual city gov't. Fire some more Cesar. Keep up the good work. Pick yourself up off the canvass an go kick some more ass. Cut the budget with a meat cleaver--not a surgeons knife. Out with the incompetant compadres. You too Ms. G. Why not show some courage at PUB an cut staff there, and our electrical rates?

The city council do not even try to hide corruption anymore. They don’t have to. The people of brownsville are so fucking stupid and ignorant it can be practiced openly. Why is Nurith Galonsky on both boards? Never had a real job in her life.

She needs to speak up..

I didn't hear anything - mentirosa.. lying under oath.

Are we supposed to have an ear piece to hear your vote? Is that what your constituents ask from you when you were on campaign? To vote in a manner that not even a dog can hear?

Why were you so insecure during the vote?

So we have

1. A racist commissioner
2. A pervert and corrupt commissioner playing Star Wars butt naked
3. A wife beating, cannabis addict commissioner
4. Munguia AKA: Who the fuck are you?

1;10 you speak without knowledge or are trying to con the people. The tape recording for legal purposes cannot be authenticate as accurate. I listened to the tape and it is a mess which is why the custodian of the record cannot legally authenticate it. Neece knew this but played the perjury intimidation game for the cameras and fools. The city secretary record has been changed enough times in the past she cannot swear with certainty it is accurate. Martinez and NEECE know evidence and both knew they were using a pathetic intimidation tactic on Jessica and playing to the fools who know nothing about the law

Good god almighty. Never thought I'd ever, ever say anything positive about Juan Montoya or his blog. But hey, never say never and never say always. This time, without getting paid to do it, Juan is spot on about our stupid mayor. His actions at the last commissioner's meeting were deplorable. He's a bully and a dumb one at that. They way he treated Jessica and Rick is downright rude and quite frankly, unlawful. And Ben Neece....seriously? Who the hell do you think you are to assert perjury. You are one stupid commissioner. Been smoking too much of that weed lately? No wonder your lady left you for Bob. If you are thinking of a second term....don't. You've shown us your colors.
