MCHALE LAYS BARE CRITIC RENE CARDENAS' HYPOCRISY

By Dr. G.F. McHale-Scully

History is often written by hypocrites. Take Rene Cardenas of the Ku Klux Kardenas Klan family. He took to the editorial pages of the dying daily, better known as The Brownsville Herald, to fume furiously about the current situation at City Hall.

"I am very concerned and somewhat discouraged about the state of affairs within our city," he commenced on his rambling discourse. "As we all know, there have been some issues, events and bad choices made by Commissioner Cesar De Leon for which no explanation nor excuse will suffice.

"My family and I have always held our city close to our hearts, putting aside the scorn and ridicule that sometimes comes with success," he continued. "Putting aside negativity and moving forward should be the goal among all of us who claim to want the city to prosper. Doubling down on the line of negativity and creating a path of rogue moves, with one poor decision after another, will not resolve another crisis."

Cardenas should scrutinize his own parents before he criticizes others. His infamous progenitors were none other than Renato "Blackie" Cardenas and Mary Rose "Miss Piggy" Cardenas. Thriving in a political era when politiqueras dictated winners and losers in local elections, Old Man and Old Lady Cardenas never cared about Brownsville's economic success. They only cared about their own financial profits.

Don Pedro said it best: "The Cardenases wouldn't think twice about selling a customer a house without a roof or a car without a motor. They were insiders who swindled this community time and time again."

(Dr. McHale-Scully didn't mention that Cardenas butted heads with Planning and Zoning member Adolph Crixell when he tried to get the board to approve the installation of septic tanks in mobile home park called California Estates which was adjacent to a resaca used for irrigation and which families used for recreation, including where kids went swimming.  And Peter Zavaletta sued them for their dealings in the sales of  cars with fees disadvantageous to the consumers.

The lawsuit filed in 2009 against Cardenas Motors Inc., sought to collect damages because of "misleading or deceptive acts or practices."  Eight individuals who bought nine used automobiles from the Cardenas location in Brownsville claimed they where charged an unknown fee for services they didn’t receive. The fee in question is listed in the motor vehicles buyer’s order as "VIN REG" and it ranged from $392.18 to $798.18, said Zavaletta.

Old Man Cardenas was a do-nothing city commissioner whose most articulate sound was a grunt that resembled a fart. He once commented to Dr. Joe Zavaletta during their weekly poker party that he could sentence anyone to death in Brownsville with his Mafioso connections in Matamoros.

Old Lady Cardenas forced one of the poorest populaces in The United States to pay for the privilege of having one of the riches university systems to open a campus in Brownsville with the ultimate goal of destroying Texas Southmost College.

One of the reasons that Brownsville has never realized its potential is because the Ku Klux Kardenas Klan have always sucked the taxpayers' tit dry. Rene Cardenas needs to look at himself in the mirror before he demands that others face the truth.

As a child, I remember walking down Central Blvd with my sisters and mom (after visiting my grandfather) on a hot summer day. We were tired because we had to walk 4 miles to and from nursing home. This brand new Cadillac stops and this elegant lady says "subanse, I will take you home". Long story short, it was Mrs. Mary Rose Cardenas who told us "go to college when you grow up and live your dreams". I have never forgotten that 35 years later. She was a compassionate human being, who never forgot where she came from.

Rene (Renee?) would have been better off staying out of this debacle.

We all have skeletons in our closet, live far from perfection and have no choice in selecting our relatives.

However, he is the last person that should be "casting the first stone." Truly an idiot and a Cardenas!

Bro, you’re still justifying De Leon’s pathetic behavior? It’s getting old.

As a teenager, I remember walking down Palm Blvd with my cousins and uncle(after going to Godfather's which is now KVEO) on a muggy summer night. We were tired because we had to walk 4 miles home to La Muralla. This brand new Corvette stops and this elegant man with surfer blond hair says "subanse bitches, I will take you to Bocaccios 2000". Long story short, it was the dancing devil himself, Ralph Cowen, dressed up as Gen. Custer, who told us "run for office as many times possible and travel the world at poor taxpayers expense". I got a job at PUB and have never forgotten that 37 years later. He was a proud Son of the Confederacy who never forgot to send a $20 Chili's gift card before elections.

Mrs Kardenas encouraged people to go to college, so she could take the public's money to build her own legacy. From taking advantage of her aged accounting customers, to selling fake auto registrations, and for general greed against their Hispanic customers. The Kardenas Klan perfected and profited from the act of taking advantage of illegals and the poor.

As I child I remember walking down Central Bvld after a long night at El Camichin, just as we were about to get to Ruben Torres Blvd, this silver Rolls Royce drove up next to us, and asked "Pardon me, would have any Grey Poupon?" and we responded, "but of course"

So he let us into his rolls roys and we enjoyed a delicious pork loin with Grey Poupon, red wine all while listening to Antonio Vivaldi. When we finally finished our dinner, he dropped us off at La Movida and we wined and dined the night away at beautiful downtown Brownsville.

Come on, now it's Rene. Just stop!
Don't change the de Leon subject with this.
I don't buy this. Rene is a good man!

Fuck the cardenases!

Rene and his "elite" buddies talk worse about people behind closed doors. A recording of his conversations would make Cesar look like an angel.

His "Old Brownsville" buddies are biggots and are happy to tell you "How things work."

Jerry, la zorra nunca se ve su cola and neither do you. Ask the kids who were so unfortunate to have you for their "so-called" teacher, especially on a Monday morning with your sunglasses on in class. Be as it may, attack whomever you want but it behooves you to grow up and learn to respect the elderly persons who worked all their lives to make a better future for themselves and help as many as they could along the way. Mr. and Mrs Rey Cardenas do not deserve the rude, malicious name-calling that you have placed on them. Can you imagine what the kids would write about you? Respect your elders and you stay in your cantinas.

I'm remember walking down Central Blvd after working my shift at G.W. Jrs on Elizabeth st. I had to walk 4 miles to my other job at Gibson's. But out nowhere this motorcycle drove up and this guy said "Jap on ese". I replied, I'm not Japanese and kept on walking.

Those of you who mock the young lady who wrote the first response, should be ashamed of yourself. She is telling a story from the bottom of her heart as she remembers and values her childhood with her mother and family and how Mrs. Mary Rose made an impression on her. Then you go in a start with your stupid remarks that indicate just what kind of a person you really are. Like the kids say at school, "Tienes valores o the vale?" I can bet que a ustedes les vale y les puedo apostar que ni votan pero si les gusta hecarle a la gente que si tiene valores.

You are right...sorry young beautiful lady. No more roasting people. Focus on elizondo instead and cabler. Gotcha
