ASST. CITY DIRECTOR BOOKED FOR NEW YEAR SHOOTING

Special to El Rrun-Rrun
City of Brownsville Police Dept. have arrested Assistant Purchasing Director Jose F. Perez and charged him with a charge of Discharge of Firearm in Certain Municipalities, a Class A Misdemeanor for shooting a firearm into the air during New Year's.

Reports indicate that the charges resulted in a two-day suspension, but could not be verified with city officials. Sources say that neighbors close to his home heard the shooting of the firearm and reported it to police.

Other reports indicate that Perez has run afoul of the law for domestic violence offenses. Sources say he continues to be employed by the city.

guns don't appear to be the only thing he was shooting.

His eyes tell a story.

Now we will really know if Micheal Lopez had it in for those two employees fired for selling football porras if he doesn't fired this guy who did worse and has prior record of domestic violence. Grow some balls Mr. Lopez because Leo Garza's lawyer will be watching what you do!

Sounds like Ben Neece let presto la pistola y el cigarro de marijuana.

With his track record, he shouldn't have been hired by the city in the first place.

I wonder when, if every, Mexican's will learn that shooting guns into the air in celebration is a very dangerous practice. Arrest every damn one of them you can find.

I told a friend of mine I was not picked for jury on a case involving illegal possession of a weapon, and my friend mentioned that her young neighbors were shooting guns during the new year's celebration and that nobody called the police. I really think I was not picked for jury because I am really AGAINST guns, period. Many people say that guns don't kill people, that people kill people. Guns ARE USED as the means. I don't know this man, but if he did something against the law, he should be punished according to the law. Anybody covering up for him or knowingly doing something to protect him is an accessory to the crime.

After all the public appeals to stop firing guns during the holiday...here we have one and he receives a "slap on the wrist"...not really punishment. The reason that people here don't respect the police is that they are not backed up by the managers or judges.... Time to make an example of this man to, hopefully, remind other citizens that "what goes up must come down". Unfortunately common sense around here is devoid of any idea of physics. Can only effect change is to take action.

Michael is "pulling the trigger" with Roxanne, the public information officer for the city.

Roxanna Rosas is definitely holstering Michael's gun...

Michael lopez va hacer lo que CABLER LE DIGA no mejoramos en nada con este guey de city manager

Nobody covered anything up. That is why he got cited and he turned himself in. Otherwise nothing would have been reported.

Hay video?

How do you know he was just "slapped on the wrist"?

11:06 AM....Guns are inanimate objects, with no will of their own. They are indeed the "means" of bad things and good things. It is OK with me, if you have no use for guns as this is a free country. I hope you never need one, for guns are like parachutes, if you need one, you will need it pretty damn bad.

Most likely he will be slapped on the wrist! He shouldn't have been hired to start with, he already had a record and he also had a history of bad behavior as a city employee. So if you were a gambling man, being slapped on wrist will most likely happen!

Elizondo where are you?

I know this guy. Went to school with him at Pace. He’s also a Marine Veteran. Not that makes an excuse for what he did. I hope if he needs help, he finds it soon .

Anonymous said...

If he is a veteran, he should be setting a good example.

The guy also has a history of domestic violence. I don’t care if homeboy is a veteran. It doesn’t cover his predilection for violence. The guy’s a jerk with his employees too.

You BUNCH OF WORTHLESS motherfuckers speaking out of line about this Marine!

He made some poor choices no doubt.

However, you know nothing about his service, what this man lived-saw in combat and how it may have affected him.

I'd rather have this man by my side ANYDAY instead of some of you wussies!

We are ALL humans and some of the stuff we see or saw, has a way of affecting even the strongest.

God bless you Mr. Perez and I wish you the best!

So being Marine makes it OK to beat up women? Cool got it. You should go to AA and Anger Management classes Jose!
