YVONNE BARRAZA: UNITED WE'LL MAKE BROWNSVILLE STRONGER

Why I'm running:

Hello, my fellow Brownsville residents. My name is Yvonne Bazarra and I am running to represent all of us on the city commission.

When my friends and relatives found out that I have filed to become a candidate for District 3 of the City of Brownsville Commission, their usual response is "why on earth would you want to do that? You're young, working, and still have your life ahead of you. Why run for public office?"

My response is "why not?" Shouldn't our fellow citizens who work to improve their life and the lives of their families and fellow residents and for a better future have someone to represent them in city government?"

My decision to run for city commissioner is driven by a deep commitment to serving our community and affecting positive change. As someone actively involved in our city's affairs and who is volunteering to improve our beautiful city, I've developed a keen understanding of our challenges and potential solutions that could make a real difference.

My decision to run is rooted in the belief that hard work dedicated to a worthy cause is one of life's most significant rewards. Unity makes us stronger. Together, we can – and will – win.

I offer my extensive experience in business and management which has honed my skills in addressing complex issues, implementing solutions, and exercising fiscal responsibility. My active participation in diverse community organizations and committees has given me the insight and a comprehensive understanding to address our city's needs.

I have several key goals that will significantly improve our community once I'm elected.

Economic Growth and Local Business Support

Advocating for economic growth and supporting local businesses are crucial aspects of a thriving community. We must support our local economy, hire local people, and to keep our money here. As your city commissioner, I will work tirelessly to create job opportunities to encourage our youth to stay local and contribute to our city's prosperity. By fostering a business-friendly environment and removing institutional obstacles that hamper growth, we can attract new enterprises, help existing ones to flourish, and create a robust local economy that benefits all our fellow residents.

Youth Opportunities

Finding and creating opportunities for our youth is a crucial commitment to our city's future. I will collaborate with local schools, businesses, and community organizations to develop programs that provide valuable skills, internships, and mentorship opportunities. Investing in our young people ensures they have the tools and support needed to succeed right here in our community. They must be made to feel that they have a direct stake in our city's future and feel that their voice matters. We need to institute an attitude in our new generations that civic participation is a duty and that contributing to our city's betterment is an obligation we all share.

Enhanced Public Safety

The safety and security of our neighborhoods are paramount. As your commissioner, I will work closely with law enforcement and community leaders to implement effective strategies to protect our streets and residents. This includes supporting community policing initiatives, improving emergency response times, and addressing the root causes of crime through prevention programs.

Infrastructure Improvement

A city's infrastructure is its backbone, and I am committed to keeping our roads smooth, our parks green, and our flooding issues managed effectively. By prioritizing infrastructure projects, we enhance the quality of life for our residents and create a more attractive environment for businesses and visitors. I will advocate for smart, sustainable solutions that address our current needs while preparing for future growth.

 Tell the People the Truth

As your city commissioner, I pledge to champion government transparency. I believe leaders should see themselves as public servants first, not just civically elected community members. This means being accessible to constituents, providing clear and timely information about city decisions, and actively seeking public input on important issues. By fostering an open and accountable government, we can build trust and ensure that our city's policies genuinely reflect the needs and desires of our community.

We Must Lead by Example.

In conclusion, my decision to run for city commissioner is driven by a genuine desire to serve our community. I bring a combination of business acumen, community involvement, and a strong work ethic to this role. If elected, I will work hard to address our city's challenges, improve transparency in governance, and enhance the quality of life for all our residents. I ask for your support in this endeavor, and together, we will build a brighter future for our city.

Your support is crucial, and I am committed to representing your best interests. United, we can win. United we'll make Brownsville strong.

We need more swimming pools, parks with lighted baseball fields, better library services, lower taxes, a fruit and grocery store downtown instead of multiple beer joints and on and on.
Maybe replace top brass in all city offices and combine their servicea to escalate savings.
Too many pencil pushers already.

Is this one from the Arts & Sausage Party?

Where's that lonesome dove Pat Ahumada? He'd take her on.

About time! We need new faces and persons who seem to care. I like how she thinks. Brownsville needs people who want to take initiatives and care about the city. She sounds genuine. A candidate shouldn't think they deserve to be there. Politics sounds crazy. I wish her a lot of luck. She has excellent platforms. I can't wait to see mote of her. You have my vote.

Is this the lady ALWAYS posting on Neighbors APP?!
Omg

Anonymous said...

Why should I vote for someone who does tell us what she does?

Anonymous said...

She is a pretty lady but I did not want to say that. Focus on her volunteer work, her dedication to the community, her networking and the supporters that will carry her to win the election.

Anonymous said...

Heard it all before. Browntown is a shit hole and will always be a shithole. She should just say I want to do what McAllen is doing…

Anonymous said...

Obviously ms Barraza you read this blog otherwise u wouldn’t advertise ur campaign on it . Correct?? That being said , with all due respect: who are you? What do u do exactly and why should we trust you when we have heard BS this before and have only been disappointed ?? Are you related to or friends with/to someone in office?? Why do u consider yourself different from the existing corrupt politicians in our town? These are some of the many questions we as citizens have every time a “ new savior “ throws their hat in the ring. Why is your story any different from others who have promised the world, and turn out to be duds?? We need more info on you , THE PERSON, so we can begin to consider your candidacy. We the citizens are sick and tired of beautiful words and out of this world promises, We want someone that will take action and that will make waves and go against the corrupt culture of our elected officials. Are you , that person??? Inquiring minds want to know

I've known her for awhile and she is always volunteering somewhere for something. She really cares about her community and I'm sure she'll make an excellent city Commissioner.

The fact that Montoya is filtering only the positive comments means she will have delusions to stay in the race and think she can win. No thanks.

Bye bye Denise Velez!!! Never stood a chance and now you’re toast! Battle between this blonde and Gus… and I’ll take Yvonne over Gus!

Oh yes let me run to cast my vote for another embedded friend of Roy Del Los Santos, Bryan Martinez and Jessica T. This is the woman who hosted all of Jessica T fundraisers, she will be great (rolling my eyes). If she has served in all of those aspects then why are we still in shit we are in. No thank you!

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH READER #2:07 ON THE 6TH. IT LOOKS GOOD ON PAPER, BUT WHAT ABOUT ACTIONS. SAME OLD, SAME OLD, PROMISES AND SAME OLD, SAME OLD SELF-POCKET SCHEMES.

MAKE A LIST OF PAST OFFICIALS AND WHAT PROPERTY THEY OWN AND WHAT CARS THEY DRIVE AND WHAT MANSIONS THEY LIVE IN, AND YOU WILL SEE THAT WE DON'T HAVE THOSE ETHICS ANYMORE = TO WORK FOR THE PEOPLE.

WE NEED SOMEONE LIKE CATI WHO SPEAKS UP AND SPOILS THE BEANS FOR THOSE WHO ARE TRYING TO FILL THEIR OWN BEAN POT. ORAHALE CATI! GIVE IT A TRY. PEOPLE DO NOT LIKE OTHERS WHO ARE GOING TO TURN THEM IN, BUT THOSE OF US WHO SEE WHAT ACTUALLY GOES ON, KNOW BETTER.

Wow harsh comments here but hey I understand, people are very disappointed with the city commission and mayor, Mcallen is eating our lunch, and with the nation in turmoil with papa Biden vs con Trump the nation is very divided, not sure RFK jr Kennedy the independent can really do any harm, oh well back to Brownsville, i am not surprised Brownsville is the same holding pattern its been for years, now if this lady wins she is one vote, need to get at least 2 or 3 more commissioners on her side to do any good for the community, i am sure she means well but in all reality its going to be rough, tough and politics is nasty business. I am really disappointed with on that Bryan Martinez guy he turned out to be a real flake or fairy, has not done anything worth while. I hope this new candidate does not follow in his goody shoes footsteps on the same path. Chuy.

Anonymous said...

Cati sucks.

Anonymous said...

Is she really a blond? I wants to know!

Anonymous said...

can she vote three times?

Anonymous said...

I also agree with 2:07, but WHY bring up Cati ?? She should be left buried and forgotten. NEVER MORE!!! She was just a big mouth with to many skeletons in her closet. Brownsville needs to move FORWARD!! I also hope that comment that this Barraza lady is BFF with Roy de las Chanclas, Petite Bryan Mtz and space cadet Jessica Tetreu. If this is true, its over before it began , how sad . Dime con quien te juntas y te dire quien eres!!!

Anonymous said...

Tell me who's she connected to and will tell you who she really is.

Anonymous said...

Is she Tetas 2.0?

Anonymous said...

MBGA = "Make Brownsville Great Again"
Sound familiar?

Anonymous said...

Parece que ya perdiste mi voto gordita . Ni modo , quien te manda juntarte con esa chusma.

Anonymous said...

Isn't that where the hurricane hit MATA GORDA? IS'N THAT PLACE IN BROWNTOWN???

Anonymous said...

Yvonne Barraza You got my support and our family! Puro Team Barraza 2025!!

3:25 PM - Caty Presas is Captain Bob's lady. Do not mess with her. Captain Bobs will come after you. Zeke Silva tried to go out with Caty but Captain Bobs put a stop to it right away. Is the Barraza lady Jessica T BFF? This Barraza lady is always promoting her husband on the Nextdoor app. Erasmo Castro is ready to announce his next gig too. Erasmo Castro just came back from Disney saying it was too expensive and next time will go with Jessica T as her assistant. Remember, Erasmo practically lives in Cuba now and spends pennies over there. In Cuba, Erasmo is known as the Mexican Trompo and they love it.

CAPTAIN OF WHAT? TOILETS???? OR WHAT'S INSIDE

Anonymous said...

Wonder if she has a onlyfans account 🤔🤨🧐??lmfao

Anonymous said...

3:01 AM

If Presas is with Captain Bob does this mean that she is using drugs like Amanda? Because that how Captain Bob picks them and he likes to share them with other men because he can't fulfill them.

Anonymous said...

All candidates for place #3 are good.
Gus is the best choice.

Anonymous said...

3:01 AM Captain Bob's Restaurant now wants the 10 Commandments on the wall to help him calm down with the vices. Is Cati Presas divorced? How does Captain Bob has so much time for his exes and kids? His restaurant may be closing because of Zeke Silva. Zeke Silva is married but everyone knows he also needs the 10 Commandments in his coffee shop. Zeke Silva is the brownest Mexican you will ever meet, straight from El Ejido, pero he claims he is "White."

Anonymous said...

FRANKLY…..once she checked she had a record…it should have ended there. Remove from list…..

Who appointed her? And why?

Anonymous said...

All I can say is "Tetas!"
