WAS THE MAQUILA FIRE THAT KILLED THREE BOMBEROS ARSON?

Even before the bodies of three Matamoros firemen were laid to rest by their grieving relatives, there was already rising suspicion that the lethal blaze – like more than a dozen other recent fires of Matamoros businesses – had been deliberately set.

The fire that engulfed the Spellman High Voltage Electronics Corporation erupted at pre-dawn Friday morning and witnesses said there had ben an explosion before the building was engulfed in flames. The firefighters had tried to control the flames until another explosion brought down the roof and walls of the plant.

Relatives of the dead men – Osvaldo Xavier Cedillo López, Ángel Gustavo Acuña Hernández, and Carlos Emmanuel Hernández – spoke on condition of anonymity with reporters at the cemetery and said that a spate of deliberately-set fires resulting from business owners refusing to pay "piso," or extortion to organized crime gangs that go under the generic name of "La Maña."

They said that when the businesses refuse to pay, fires of suspicious origins had ben set to force them to comply with the extortion demand.

Officially, authorities say that the fire may have been the result of an electrical short circuit, but relatives said that the real reason was that the businesses had refused to pay.

And even before the investigative forensics team that was to be sent from Victoria – the state capital – and Mexico City to investigate the cause of the fire, backhoes were seen clearing the debris and remains inside the building.

"How are they going to investigate if the company has already removed the evidence from the scene?," asked the grieving daughter of one of the men. "This is very suspicious to us."

The intensity of the blaze forced the evacuation of Spellman and two other maquilas nearby. Firefighters from Rio Bravo and Valle Hermoso also assisted in putting out the fire nine hours later by mid-afternoon Friday.

There’s really no secret that the cartel uses the government, led by Beto Granados, to carry out extortion against these businesses. When business owners refuse to pay, their establishments end up burned. Beto Granados is basically just a puppet, controlled by Alfredo Cardenas.

Do we no longer offer assistance fighting those kind of fires? As good neighbors we used to send a truck and crew to help, much as Mexico sent a crew to help after the flood last summer in Texas.

Sad to read about this, Juan.

But on my mind is Brownsville Mayor John Cowen's preparation for the arrival of the ICE Goons. Cowen seems to have a live-and-let-live personality, not a fighting one.

Will he simply let ICE do whatever the Hell it wants to do with our citizenry???

The other maquilas nearby are the same maquilas. They will manufacture in one, move the items to the other building and then to the last building that burned. There the dangerous components were assembled...that it is why it exploded. Not a short circuit. The firemen, should have not gone into the building. The maquila owners are going to rebuild. The firemen are gone. Shame on Matamoros for not controlling the maquilas and their products.

Cowen is a grifter, just like every commissioner there. Most politicians sellout very quickly. You ca replace them with a chimpanzee and they'd do just as a good a job as any.

In 6 months they'll be doing all types of sketchy shit, deflecting, ignoring their base, defending all types of corrupt and unethical practices the city has done before they were elected. This isn't no "situation" this is the city's fault and you're acting like fucking idiots.

Bitch, I know it's not your fault but you can try to fix it. Every department in the city of Brownsville needs to be placed under a consent decree. Fight for that!

Cowen knows if he resists or criticizes Trump at his official capacity, We'll have a 1,000 ICE agents by tomorrow. Going in a convoy through Las Prietas, Southmost, La Muralla, La Posada, La 4 , El Puerto , 4 Esquinas, Ramireno y todo el pinche pedo. They'll go into your house pull you out and shoot you right there and then. It's best if Cowen tucks his tail and STFU!

"Haven't y'all learned"

Yes follow the commies who prefer to live with criminals. As for the deaths that occurred during the riots, if people would stay home and mind their own business they wouldn't have gotten killed. But they would rather risk their lives for the few bucks they receive from Soros

Only a commie would prefer to side with the criminals instead of law and order. The idiots that have died during the riots died for being stupid. If these brainless people would have stayed home and minded their own business they would be alive today. But they risked their lives for the few bucks they received from Soros and Chinese backed far-left groups trying to destabilize our government. Be careful what you wish for.

The firemen from Valle Hermoso and from Reynosa arrived to help but they did not go into the building. If the Brownsville firefighters had been there, they would have told the Matamoros firefighters not to go into a structure that was a danger zone.
