BREAKING NEWS: ORTIZ SAYS BISD ELECTION TOTALS HAVE CHANGED

By Juan Montoya
Poll watchers and candidates in the Brownsville Independent School District elections have been told by Cameron County Elections administrator that the vote totals in the election have changed.
A meeting has been called to address the issue this morning at the Cameron County Elections Office this morning at 8 a.m.
Many BISD observers are saying that the new changes will favor Jose Hector Chirinos, a member of the Butch Barbosa-Minerva Pena-Otis Powers slate who – like Barbosa – was not elected. He, instead, came in behind by four votes to Linda Gill-Martinez.
With Chirinos on the board, the possibility of breaking the existing majority and replacing it with a new one becomes a possibility.
"When we went to check the vote, Roger told us that there were four precincts that hadn't come in as well as the military ballots that hadn't been counted," said a candidate. "The questions is, why not? Were they waiting to see what the results would be so they could pull out the others and change the results. This stinks to high heaven!"

Wow...shocking. Brownsville deserves Chirinos. Looks like "La Pulga" at the transportation department is back in business! Maybe I'll call the IRS. I'm sure all those folks are paying takes on the trinkets they're selling to each other.

I guess that there's nothing wrong with votes not being counted as long as your candidate wins, right?

Who the hell is the "Joaquin" guy? Another "Pot Head"? "La Porter" seemed to produce so many of those! How many Porter Graduates are now on the Board? Triste!

como es posible que las eleciones dependan de este viejo pendejo, no la chinguen. f.b.i. no le hagan al pendejo y arreglen este pedo, pero ya.

A majority of 5? I seem to remember that during the board meetings everyone claims to be a team of 8. What a laugh? When has this been true? There has always been the mentality that there must be the majority and the minority. Aren't they there to decide what is best for the district and not themselves. It is good to be a democracy, but would it not be better to work together to reach a consenses, to agree to disagree and vote for what is best for our younger generation. That makes TOOOOOOO much sense for someone to actually try to do it.

Finally! Conversation leading to resolution is so refreshing! Let's keep it going....

That's right elected officials need to vote for what is best for the school district, the city and the county NOT for personal interests! ENOUGH ABUSE OF OUR TAX DOLLARS! We that do pay our taxes!

The only ones I see are really looking out for the district are Luci, Caty and Christy, believe it or not. Eversince they came on board those change orders really stopped. Thank you ladies for your hard work and dedication!

I was a poll watcher two years ago, no provisional ballots for BISD were counted nor even mentioned.

Roger you better cut your shit or you will be facing charges for tampering with the elections.

ARE YOU KIDDING US!!! THE POST BELOW IS FROM LUCI, CATY AND CHRISTY!!! WHAT A LAUGH FOR BISD! NOTICE THEY ONLY TALK ABOUT THE MONEY AT BISD. THEY DO NOT MENTION THE STUDENTS, TEACHERS OR SCORES! TRISTE!

It is not Roger Ortiz fault. It is Luci, Caty and Christy. They were at every early voting place and had their people there. They are the ones who need to be investigated. Why do you think they are so worried their whole scheme will unravel. They paid off quiet alot of people for votes. Unfortunatly the democratic chair, here in Cameron County, is behind the scheme also and a great supporter of the Luci, Caty and Christy. Sylvia, has alot invested in Linda Gill Martinez winning her election. Interesting, don't you think?
