BULLETIN; NELSON DENIES TRO ON LINCOLN PARK SALE

Word has reached us that 138th District Court Judge Arturo Nelson has denied the granting of a temporary restraining order to stop the sale of Lincoln Park to the University of Texas system.
The motion for the TRO was filed by Cameron County District Attorney Luis Sanez and Ass. DA Matthew Kendall as private citizens. Saenz and Kendall were represented by attorney Michael Cowen.
In rendering his order, Nelson did not specify the reasons for the denial other that he had studied the arguments and evidence presented to him  by the plaintiffs and defendants.
Saenz and Kendall had argued that city commissioner Rose Gowen was in conflict of interest because she was working for the UT System when she voted for the resolution that gave the city staff the go-ahead to enter into negotiations with the UT System to sell the 48-acre park for $6.5 million, millions below the UT System's own appraisal and an independent appraisal performed by former mayor Pat Ahumada.
In reaction to the denial, a local political activist said the upcoming city elections on  May 15 – for which mayor Tony Martinez has already announced for reelection – would become a referendum on the park's sale.
"If you want the park sold, vote for Tony. If you don't want the park sold vote against Tony," he said.

Surprising? Nelson sold out as usual. Keep an eye out on his contribution report and you will find out why?
Its a no brainer, you don't give away or sell public land that is supported by the taxpayer.

The time will come when he is going up for re election, then he will use his Hispanic name and the hispanics will remember how he turned out to be selling out to a high bidder.

COWARD !!! You hang around and make decisions that benefit your elitist friends, but when it comes to being re-elected you come out and look for the common, hard working folks with big grins on your face and fake promises. Oh, and then you throw them under the bus? Shame on you and those who are trying go give away, steal city property, or buy it for an unfair price.

Arturo has clearly shown that he wants to play ball with the current autocracy in Brownsville and is unwilling to stand for the people. Arturo has made a big miscalulation....he has shown that he is with the autorcratic government of Tony Martinez....bad move Arturo.

Art Nelson, by refusing to disclose his legal reasons for his decision, has proved that he is a player in the Dumbokratic game of corruption in this county. He refuse to say "why" he rendered his decision....thus making his decision questionable.

Once again power, money and influence determine the outcome of justice in Cameron Country. The working folks take it in the shorts again.

Much is said of Stillman and the early Gringos down here who bent over the common man. He did nothing worse than what we do to ourselves. We need to wise up and decide who is the enemy, long dead Gringos or living Mexican crooks and influence peddlers.

Have you noticed in the list of items he considered, he didn't list "evidence".....hmmmm??

THE JUDGE WAS NOT GOING TO GRANT AN INJUCTION BECAUSE A BOND HAD TO BE POSTED FOR THE INJUNCTION OR TRO TO BE VALID.... WHICH BEGS THE QUESTION... WHO HAS BETWEEN 6 AND 11 MILLION TO PROTECT THE CITY IN CASE THE PLAINTIFF'S LOST the lawuit? So, to all of you pendejos out there that think that Nelson did something wrong.... you CAN'T HAVE A VALID TRO OR INJUNCTION WITHOUT A BOND!!! Luis Saenz does not have that kind of money, neither does Cowen, and neither did Kendall!!! Bola de Punetas... it's Civil Procedure 101!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh settle down Art Jr. If it wasn't for your wife you would still be flipping burgers. It is noble to come to the defense of your corrupt father, but you are an idiot, and everyone knows it.
