People really need to learn to smile for cameras. That man is Official Parade Marshall Joe Wallace Garcia if I'm not mistaken or does everyone here already know that?

Most People my age remember our Brownsville's own " ole blue eye ' Joe Wallace Garcia. He was Master of Ceremonies in many events in the 60's and 70's.

These are the type of activities you should cover
in your blog instead of all the gossip and innuendo.
I like historical articles that you feature. Why
not take that angle instead of the rumors that are
set out to hurt people. We should do our complaining
in the voting box and not over blogs. Or so I think!

60s and 70s? Many of us weren't even born yet. I guess the older folks need someone they can relate to.

In a couple of weeks, Mcallen will have BORDER FEST. They will have international stars, food from all over the world, while we continue to live in the PAST. Charro Days has NOT evolved, in some ways Sombrero Fest has taken over, but Sombrero Fest has music for "El pueblo" but not an educated pueblo. This pueblo enjoys having fun with a local accordion and bajo band instead of maybe Intocable (if you want to keep it Pueblo) or a star like Demian Bichir or Eugenio Derbez. I forgot, they COST MONEY, they don't have televisa programs and our town doesnt have the $$$ means because our local politicians just want the $$ but let the "pueblo" eat tortillas duras (instead of cake, like Mary Antonnette)

Brownsville tortillas suck.

He will smile but this is Brownsville, nothing to smile about because Charro days is dying or is already dead. Charro days went from first to dead last in the valley.
