UNTIMELY DEMISE FOR ONE OF CITY'S 32 "NEW" SHELTERS

(Ed.'s Note: As the city and BusMetro try to stay within their construction schedule of 32 bus shelters, alas, tragedy strikes. The newly-installed bus shelter on the corner of Old Military Highway and Ruben M. Torres was struck the gray pickup truck and demolished. As you can see, this is the first bus stop group planned since 2022 and was scheduled for completion in April and must now be replaced by the city. We thank one of our eight readers for the photo. With summer temperatures just around the corner, shelters like this were built to protect bus riders from the elements. Curses, foiled again!)

The city needs to go after the driver's insurance. Have the driver fork over the money to replace the shelter.

This is why we can't have nice things.

They’re insured, it’ll be reconstructed. As long as no one was hurt, what’s the big deal?

ZAVAPATAS JUST OPENED A BIKE STORE (LA ROSADA, WITH A GRINGO LAST NAME) IS THE MANAGER. a free pass to use the hike and bike private trails will be given to the first 50 gringos (only) that purchase a specialized bike, ticket is a life time no expiration date.

ZAVAPATAS ONE OF THE FOUNDING FATHERS OF LOS COCOS.

NOBODY CARES about Brownsville, Mexico!

This brings a serious question. Why aren't there bollards or "traffic defense posts" around these new Bus stops to help prevent stuff like this? We all remember last year of that man who drove into & ran over, killing a few immigrants who were sitting/waiting by a bus stop. Had there been such precautions, perhaps it wouldn't have ended as badly.

The City Commission, the upper echelons who are employed by the City of Brownsville are just so fucking stupid & selfish. Who don't care about their citizens.
