Hinojosa has a strong base in South Texas, particularly in Brownsville, McAllen and Laredo, where Hispanic voters and Democratic turnout will be crucial. Her biggest challenge is preventing Republicans from making further gains among Hispanic voters. Brownsville and Hidalgo County could provide large Democratic margins, while Laredo is important because of its traditionally strong Democratic vote. Corpus Christi and Nueces County are more competitive and likely favor Abbott.
Overall, Hinojosa's path to victory depends on strong South Texas turnout, winning Hispanic voters by a significant margin, and making gains with independents and suburban voters elsewhere in Texas. South Texas could be critical if the statewide race remains close.
Greg Abbott remains the favorite to defeat Gina Hinojosa in the 2026 Texas governor’s race, with my estimate at roughly 80–85% for Abbott and 15–20% for Hinojosa. However, recent polling shows a surprisingly close race, including one poll showing Abbott at 47% and Hinojosa at 46%. Hinojosa’s strongest opportunity is among Hispanic voters, independents, and urban/suburban voters. If she significantly increases Democratic turnout in South Texas and narrows Abbott’s margins in the suburbs, an upset is possible. The race could become much more competitive if polling moves to a consistent tie or Hinojosa lead.
Have you hear her speak, she’s a white woman. She only came down to BrownTown to garner voters, up north she’s toast. Finally this will be the end of the Gilberto Hinojosa empire.
This is for the ladies. Take back control of your right to make healthcare decisions for yourselves and your daughters. Politicians are not physicians. Men won't allow outsiders and strangers to make life-changing decisions for them. Why
should you be any different? I've brought up my daughters with positive morals and high self-esteem. I support any decisions that they make.

Think about all the employees that lose their job if Abbott doesn't win. That is how Abbott wins: by the people that work for him. Secretaries, lawyers, drivers, staff etc

This is the essence of your party, rooted in hatred.

You remind me so much of my brother, religious, conservative, wants window units for schools but if you ask him what are the three branches of government? Ask him what the first amendment is? Or about Trump's past, he has no idea? High school, college grad and has a vocation. He's hung like a horse and has great gun shooting skills but he's dumber than a door knob.
