Juan, this Mr. Amigo/Amiga has all been bullshit..Who the fuck pays for it? Taxpayers, but who enjoys it, the Elite. Does Mr/Ms Amiga/Amigo go to your house for a small celebration, NO!!!! I used to wait on her old man at the Beacon Harbor by the "cuatro esquinas," many, many years ago. Don Roberto would come in with a stunning beauty in his arm and people would gawk! Not at Don Roberto, mind you, the songwriter of "reloj," but at the brown eyed beauty in the long mink coat. Those were the days!!!!
Is she going to stay at her Rancho Viejo home? or are Brownsville tax payers going to pay for her "security", her meals, her stay and her family and friends? What has she done in the previous year to help in the friendships of Mexico and the United States? These "Televisa" people are nothing more than leeches that take advantage of one of the poorest cities in the United States every year. McAllen's international Border Fest has less history and more people every year giving and not taking revenue from the city and its citizens. I don't give a F U C K about charro days. Same crappy events that have been run by the same crap people. My biggest complaint is the bullshit and dangerous police escorts provided for free to the charro bus. There is no need for this. Do these people think they are so important that they can not wait for 5 minuets in the very heavy traffic ? A couple of years ago the police and bus came up behind me with blaring sirens . I had no where to pull over and almost caused an accident. This year I will not pull over. I will kick their ass in court over the ticket I will be issued.
