Someone pointed out to us that the candidates in these elections were having problems complying with the state election code regarding campaign signs.
First it was Pee-Wee over at the Texas Southmost College board election who had to attach a sticker because the printer had neglected to put the word "for" on his signs.
Then it was poor Carlos Masso over at the Brownsville Navigation District who misspelled the word progress and spelled it "progess" instead.
Then someone said Argelia Miller and Moses Sorola's signs didn't say they were running "for" the port.
Now we have Luis Melendez who was accused of not asking property owners for permission to place his signs before his crews hammered them into the ground. Well, Melendez is back. If you look at the sign above, can you tell what place on the BND board Luis is running for? We'll give you a hint. He's running against Sorola and Martin Arambula in Place 2.

I don't know about anyone, but bad grammar is the norm in Brownsville.
Shouldn't the sign say" Elect so and so for Port of Brownsville Commissioner place #2. There is the Port of Harlingen, and Port Mansfield in Willacy County.
Just a thought.
