Whether you agreed or disagreed with the views (and graphics) that appeared in D

Apparently, someone has complained long and loud enough for Big Brother to pull the plug out on his blog.
Without knowing the true reason, we only hope that it wasn't someone who disagreed with the content of the blog. Irritating? Yes. Grating? Yes. Offensive? At times.
But is this enough reason to still a voice that has been preaching in the wilderness for the better part of four decades?
Those of us who read his stuff knew that he did not favor late-term abortions, was against the wars, liked his nudes, and battled the windmills of an entrenched elite obstinate in keeping a stranglehold on political and economical control over this part of the country.
Some folks think that free speech is being able to say what you want. Up to a point that is true. But to be truly tolerant to free speech means being able to allow someone with whom you do not agree to say what he/she wants. Short of crying "fire" in a crowded theater, that is what the First Amendment is all about.
You did not have to log on to his site by force. You did not have to look at his graphics of dead soldiers, aborted fetuses, nude women (and men), and modern art.
Perhaps now that the site has been shut down those people that complained will sleep better knowing that that point of view has been stifled. On the other hand, we at this blog feel that an important part of our public discourse has been stilled and we will all be the poorer for it.

WE WANT JERRY!

That fat pansy, Bobby w. Cervantes. I'm very sure he had something to do with it. But Jerry will be back, fear not.
Renolds.
That's the risk he (they. you.) took when he (they. you.) walked the libel tightrope.
And since when does a private-sector blogging service equal Big Brother?
It is a sad day for free speech.
Political satire is in danger - perhaps a hard copy version will make a come back,
There are other ways that El Rocinante can be up and running, and it will be soon. The obvious suspect to all this is a person that has complained in the past and caused people that wished to view El Rocinante to agree that they were of age inorder to do so. We all know who that is. Another suspect, is rumored to be a lady that sits on the city commission. Apparently she does not like the way people comment on her personal life on the site, and resents Dr. Mchale for posting nasty comments about her. We never thought Commissioner Gowen would stoop to such lows. El Rocinante will be back in no time if we know Dr. Mchale, and he will be better than ever, and the culprit will soon be made known by his or her admission.

If there is a will, there is a way. And that, my friends, is Jerry's mind set at this time. Only word I have for that kind of thinking is OUTSTANDING.
Ren.
I thought Brownsville and the surrounding communities were not part of China. Perhaps me wong.
We all Love the Freedom of expression and speech. The Intellectual readers from " El Rocinante " will come back in bigger ways and numbers. Dr. Jerry Mc Hale is a great Leader and we all Need him To expose all the Sickening corruption, specially from The Rancho Grande Valley.!!!
> La Voz del Pueblo .
Well El rocinante was pretty hard on people, Tia Juliet Garcia, plus all the ratas con patas, but I am sure he will be back. I hate to think that he might not be to happy when he finds out who shut him down. El Roci was just el Roci, you either like it or you didn't, but I am sure it will be back, I mean Don Quixote and his horse never stopped fighting the corrupted. Neither will Jerry.

I don't know Chris. Why don't you tell us? You are a Republican. Don't you Republicans think there is no private sector if Socialists like Obama keep taking over. Google already uses health related searches to monitor where flu symptoms might be happening to assist the government. What else is Google doing to help the government? Hmm, Chris? Why don't you tell us oh wise one?
(I mean Don Quixote and his HORSE never stopped fighting)
Y que viva el ROCINANTE!
Ren.
Good riddance!
Come on, Juan. Don't give me the old "pobrecito Jerry" line. There is not enough worthwhile content in ER to justify his being so gacho to people who don't deserve it. We both know better.
