Why is Trustee Lozano invited to this mtg? a referendum at this point after all the political tactics pulled by the Garcia team would seriously undermine the democratic process and purpose of the referendum. Higher Educ goes beyond the job security for those at UTB. Higher Educ is about education to all not just a few students. Everyone is worried about job security, but there is more at stake here than jobs--it is the future of higher education in Brownsville. No referendum: some of Brownsville REsidents are not stupid--we keep abreast and know exactly how politics can be used to manipulate outcomes. LEAVE TSC Alone. Let UTB exist on its own. The partnership as it was is over--there is a new one. Collaboration, but separate institutions.

Juliet Garcia's current behavior is beneath her. She is better than that! Garcia knows in her heart that a community college is needed; remember you were an educator once a long time ago and at some point you wanted to focus on improving education. Unfortunately, the latest tactics to intimidate, manipulate, and rig the outcome of a referendum reflect the behavior of someone who has lost touch with reality. What about the the $38K raise? Isn't anyone remotely curious about this? Is this a sign of someone who forgot that even university presidents are still accountable? Maybe Pres Garcia thinks she' only accountable to those who helped her reach her current position (UT-Regents; Brownsville Establishment). Well, her salary comes from taxpayer money, which means everyone she's still accountable to everyone (affluent or not). What will take for this lady to leave the TSC 4-3 vote stand? Somebody please brief her on the vote (two collaborating institutions operating independently of each other). The partnership was over when UT-Regents voted to end it. Don't fool us...people know. Why is president Garcia obsessed with going back? Life goes on--Come on lady people say great things about you--now its time for you a great leader to know when to stop.

Thank you for posting this We were there we heard their concerns and their commitments The senator told the trustees. "I will support the majority "

We had a great opportunity to sit at his office and listen to their discussion. It was candid and truthful I felt from all sides.,
