After weathering scathing criticism from the likes of Erasmo Castro, Jim Barton, Dino Chavez, and others associated with Cheezmeh, Accion America president Carlos Quintanilla has gone on the offensive against the principals.
In the carebrownsville blogspot he counters the criticism by Chavez by questioning whether he was involved in a scheme that netted him $300,000 from insurance broker Fernando de Pena. He also brands as lies the assertion by Jim Barton that Cameron County Judge Carlos Cascos didn't know Quintanilla and had never even met him.
That was strange to us at the time Barton made that assertion because we sat in on the meeting between the county judge, officials with the Cameron County Sheriff's Department, the county auditor and prisoner rights activists. In fact, Quintanilla addressed the entire commissioners court before that follow-up meeting was scheduled by Cascos himself.
Now it appears that carebrownsville has found that Cheezmeh founder Erasmo Castro has run afoul of the law numerous times while allowing his blogspot to (as Barton did in public) harp on the fact of Quintanilla's previous felony conviction.
Somewhere, the issue at hand – a critically necessary regional airline making Brownsville the hub of air travel between Tampico and Monterrey – got lost in the shuffle. Can we please tone down the volume on this finger pointing and get back to the theme of bringing the necessary capital to foster our economic development while at the same time providing safe travel to investors and businesses from across the Rio Grande?

Have you ever noticed how felons convicted of racketeering, like Carlos Quintanilla, always redirect the issues to other things or other issues other than the ones that matter?

It amazes me that our city is even considering working with a felon convicted of racketeering. Didn't he steal close to a million bucks using a similar scam in the past? Are our city officials that stupid, or has the guy bought everyone off?
You don't put a convicted child pornographer in-charge of a children's daycare. Why would put a convicted racketeer in-charge of a multi-million dollar deal?
The Fly Frontera controversy is all about saving our tax dollars, and nothing more!
It's not about endorsing one candidate over another. It's not about Martinez, or Ahumada, or Camarillo, or Atkinson, or Tetreau! It's about stopping the scams that have been part of our community for a long time.
And even though this issue has nothing to do with the elections, I guarantee you that the folks at Brownsville Cheezmeh will come out to vote........3,800 people strong!

Call the airport Directors of both Houston airports and verfy Dino Chavez allegations that only 31 people flew from Brownsville to Tampico all year and 231 flew to Monterrey all year. The airport Director said Mr. Chavez number are way way off. As to Mr. Barton he got caught in a lie and is too embarrased to respond. The question is yes we need air service to Mexico and these very few individuals have attempted to sway public opinions with unsubstantiated numbers, hiding their imperfections and attacking the credibility of two reputable companies. Mr. Grove and Mr. Barton are both outsiders who act as if they have lived in Brownsville all their lives, they have not.
Carlos Quintanilla is waging an internet and propaganda war to stifle opposition to the Fly Frontera proposal. He is an experienced infighter. He is using fake Facebook accounts to flood that internet site and the Brownsville Herald with praises for his scam. He is making various threats to those who oppose. Several of these have been recorded. He is desperate to earn his commission on this deal.
He has at least one commissioner in his pocket. THREE COMISSIONERS, ATKINSON (1), CAMARILLO'S BODY COUNT FOR TWO.
Fly Frontera may or may not be a viable business venture. My question is if this such a good deal, how come the big boy airline companies are not buying it? Most have express that they are not interested.
There are many very wealthy Mexicans why are they not approach to invest in this venture especially since they will benefit greatly? Why isn't Fly Frontera people using as a selling point to Mexicans how their they can fast track GREEN CARD STATUS into America? Why should the city use THE TAX PAYERS MONEY to get them started? And if the city invest our tax dollars in this deal, will the city have a stake in "ownership"???????
This whole idea of the city forking out money to a private business, is heading down the path to SOCIALISM!!!!!!

If the allegations concerning Mr Chavez taking Fernando de Pena's money is true, a rational person would have to ask - why hasn't he stepped forward himself? Why hasn't he hired an attorney? Why hasn't he sued?
Slandering a good person with libelous statements is an act of desperation on the part of Fly Frontera! Why would our city even think of dealing with a company that would comport itself in this manner.
The dispute with Mr. De Pena is extensive and the legal issues will be opened up with effective legal counsel and looking at every aspect of the deal between Mr. De Pena and Dino Chavez who also sued BISD for not giving in to his attempts to grease the wheel. What about wasting taxpayers dollars on his BISD lawsuits that he lost all way to the appellate court and his getting fired by AFLAC for unethical and unprofessional conduct, a real gem this guy is.

This guy is an ex-con with a rap sheet a mile long. He also has a string of lawsuits against him. Some that are even still pending today.
This rat was brought to town by millionaire Ted Parker because he was pissed that he was kicked off the BISD health insurance gravy train. The irony is that Ted Parker lost his BISD health contract the same way he got it, through corruption and backdoor deals that the BISD is infamous for. The puppet master all along has been ex-trustee Pat Lehman. Lehman after all had his ass wipped by Rick Zayas and had an axe to grind.
Ted Parker followed Lehman's lead by sending him the ex-con, who is a master at lying and at leading marches against the alleged evil-doers. Quintanilla was successful at concocting stories about Zayas and Cortez, that he got booted during the election.
Being the opportunist that he is, Lehman figured I got this guy in town, why not let him loose into other parts of the city that may pay a return. Lehman is a master at what he does too, manipulating boards. All it takes is four votes to get what you want, right Pat?
Lehman recruited Atkinson, an easy mark. He had Quintanilla take him to Cowboy football games and titty bars in the Dallas area. Atkinson even stayed at the ex-con's home. After all, he had no job to come home to. The next step was recruiting Ahumada, another easy mark. All he had to do was blow smoke up his ass about using all of his Mexican contacts. Ahumada salivated at the opportunity and sold himself to his Mexican counterparts.
Having no way out, Atkinson and Ahumada have made an all-in wager on Quintanilla conning his way through the system: no bidding, no competition, and a cool $2.5M jackpot.
