The Cameron County Courthouse is abuzz with speculation as employees contemplating the unfolding drama surrounding the corruption investigation that has drawn guilty pleas from former judge Abel Limas and state representative Jim Solis as they ponder who will be the next to fall.
The recent revelation that a Cameron County employee identified as Person F is the latest person ensnared in this South Texas corruption probe has left many guessing over who that person may be.
The employee isn't identified in a federal indictment against Jose Manuel Longoria, an associate of disgraced former state District Judge Limas. Limas has pleaded guilty to taking bribes from the bench in exchange for favorable rulings.
Federal prosecutors revealed "Person F" to be a county employee in an indictment returned this week against Longoria, who was an alleged middleman between Limas and the criminal defendants who bribed the judge.
Longoria, 52, did not work for the county.
According to an indictment filed Tuesday, Longoria "also served as a middleman between Person 'F' and individuals who sought, on their own initiative or through solicitation and extortion, to receive documents and information."
Speculation abounds that Person F could be a former bailiff in Limas's court and related though family to Justice of the Peace Linda Salazar and District Clerk Aurora de la Garza, who are cousins.
Although he has never been identified, the rumor mills at the courthouse water fountains and coffee makers indicate the former bailiff, among few others, fits the bill.
"They are some of the old families that have been in county government forever."
If the speculation is correct, the latest indictment would bring the investigations closer and closer to the seat of power in the county.

We surely hope Aurora de la Garza gets nailed for her complicity in everything from nepotism to manipulation of the "misjustice" system in the Cameron County Courts. Aurora de la Garza surely played a major role in getting special treatment by appointing her son, Joey's, felony fraud case to Able Limas' court where the case was heard without even calling the victims and Limas ended up dismissing the case. Armando Villalobos, Aurora de la Garza and Able Limas surely gave "special" consideration in that case. Lot of scum in the Cameron County Courthouse.
If the Feds keep investigating the Cameron County Courts we are likely to end up with Person Z or XX or more subject to corruption and racateering.
How can Gilberto Hinojosa say he was suprized about the corruption spawned from the investigation of Able Limas and Jim Solis. And then Hinojosa goes on to say it will not have a negative impact on the local justice system. What a load of crap! Gilberto Hinojosa is a major player in the Democratic Party and it is we must be amazed that he thinks the Limas case is just a "hiccup" in the community. That attitude tells me that Hinojosa accepts corruption and doesn't think its a big deal. If so, we need to get rid of Hinojosa...he's serving himself and the Dumbokratic Party with little respect and regard for the citizens.
Person F, has his day coming, believe me, he will get his. I bet he is singing like a canary. Te gustaba el dinero, pos mas te va gustar la carcel.
Jaime Munivez, current DA employee, former Limas bailiff?
I hope it is Joey himself! Doesn't he work for the County? I thought I heard he did. Either way look at his or his teacher wifes' Facebook pages...they have gone all over the place, taken cruises, fishing trips on his boat, driving fancy cars, etc..etc...etc.. All on a teacher and a County employee salary???
