ZAVALETA: LET'S END POLITICAL SHENANIGANS THIS SATURDAY

By Tony Zavaleta

Friends,
I believe I have run a clean and honest campaign and focused on the real issues facing Brownsville. We’re now in the 11th hour and I’d like to take a moment to speak to those of you who plan to vote Saturday.
I have lived in Brownsville all my life and I constantly think about our beloved city and am very concerned about what is going to happen to us if we don’t turn things around fast. I worry about our deteriorating neighborhoods and children growing up in poverty.

I worry about our economy continuing to die a slow death, and I worry about where our people will work. Brownsville has unlimited potential, but we have not realized it for all the bickering and fighting on the City Commission.

The time of political shenanigans and pet projects for personal gain must end.
Simply stated, we need new leadership on the commission and we need it now. We need experienced individuals, not people who don’t know how to manage budgets or human resources.

I don’t claim to have all the answers, but I am a seasoned professional and I think that with a competent Mayor and a supportive Commission, we can kick-start Brownsville and get it moving in the right direction.
I pledge to the people of Brownsville and of District 4, that I will be a pro-active force on the City Commission, a unifying force and a team player. I will be responsive to the needs of the people and I will proudly serve as the senior member of the Commission. I will help to develop a strategic plan for Brownsville and a budget that compliments it. I promise to get the development of our downtown and our overall economic development going again.
None of this can happen, however, if you decide to stay home on Saturday, and not vote.

For District 4 there are only 4 polling places.
Precincts 7, 8 and 9 will vote at Putegnat Elementary.
Precincts 11, 12 and 13 will vote at Russell Elementary.
Precincts 62, 62A and 75 will vote at Pace High School.
Precincts 48, 16 and 17 will vote at Yturria Elementary.

As always, I appreciate your time and I humbly ask that you cast your Brownsville City Commissioner, District 4 vote for Tony Zavaleta. Vote for Brownsville… vote for change.

Tony, what is a "seasoned professional" mean and how did you become one???? Tony, you are a "seasoned DICK". You have contributed to the local "shenanigans", by pulling the wool over the public on what was happening at UTB the last 20 years. Tony, you are not a "team" player Zavaleta/Zavaletta and you all are ego-maniacs; only focused on helping yourself. You will tie a knot in any plan for progress in this city, unless its on your terms....your personal terms. We know you. We don't trust you.
