FRIENDS BID CORINA FAREWELL AND QUESTIONS LINGER

By Juan Montoya
Friends and family said the last goodbyes to women's rights and political activist and Corina Robertson as questions about her untimely death linger on in the community she loved.
Those who attended the funeral services at Darling Mouser Funeral Home Friday included city and county elected officials, politial activists from a wide spectrum, and people whose lives had been touched by her.
"She was a founder of one of the first battered women shelters in the Rio Grande Valley," said a woman who said she had been helped by the organization. "She helped me when things looked toughest for me and taught me that no one – absolutely no one – should stand physical abuse at the hands of another."
Others spoke about her political involvement in local races. Everyone was stunned at what apparently was her untimely death by her own hand.
"I heard that she had called friends and some of her family to say goodbye," said a tearful woman. "Nobody thought she would actually do it."
While details of her last hours remain muddled, sources say that the police called a close female relative to question her about the apparent move of the body. Sources close to the first responders indicate that paramedics found her covered with a blanket under a dining room table.
"I understand that one of her relatives was called to the police department to be questioned about that," he said.
Many friends and relatives indicated that these lingering questions must be answered before there is closure to Corina's sudden demise.
"Until we are assured that there was no hanky-panky involved, there is always going to be suspicions that someone is covering something up," said a woman at the service. "She was always up front and spoke her mind where other people preferred to keep their opinions to themselves. It's the least that she deserves."

Why the rush, and who authorize the funeral services?

Corina's friends are getting together for closure.

Mr. Montoya, if you can please let me know how those people that attended the service knew where it wd be held. Me and my sister both called Darling Mouser several times during the week only to be told that they had nothing on her, did it miraculously happen Friday morning. We called late Thursday afternoon. So how did people, except for her family, know the location and time of service. Even placed calls to the Robertson's and no one answered their phones. Thank you,

Of course the Brownsville Herald is blind to the unusual circumstances in this case. But, of course the Herald is blind to most goings on in the city.

Maybe Corina knew what Arturo Jose Iniguez knew. It cost them their lives. DA Villalobos quote"Anything can be staged to look like suicide."Truth enventally surfaces.
