JP SALLIE GONZALEZ DEMANDS $12,000 PAY RAISE: BLOGGERS CALL ON HER TO "CALL IT QUITS'

OPEN LETTER TO JUSTICE OF THE PEACE SALLIE GONZALEZ, TIME TO SAVE FACE AND CALL IT QUITS. (JP Bennie Ochoa, County Clerk Joe Rivera, District Clerk Aurora de la Garza might take notice too.)

Judge Sallie:
In my opinion, the residents of Harlingen and Cameron County have overwhelmingly stated it is time for you to leave your office.
I suggest you do it quietly and with dignity by announcing you will not seek re-election in 2012.
If the responses I have received by bloggers, plus the number of people telling me face-to-face they do not believe you are doing a good job are belligerent at time and won’t make death calls — and I understand a qualified candidate or two are ready to unseat you — the voters will turn you down for re-election.
One thing that has really pissed off many is you seeking a 30 percent pay raise ($12,000), at a time the county has a serious money budget shortfall, plus this area has an unemployment rate of 12 percent and they and many others are feeling the impact of a poor economy.
I must admit, you have real intestinal fortitude to take your case for a pay raise to a grievance committee under those circumstances.
That is not right, even if you were doing your job well.
You have been JP for 19 years (and for Cameron County for 36) . You have received numerous pay raises during that period. If you were being a responsible JP that was OK in good times. But not right now.
To that, they say “enough is enough.”
You tout the money your office takes in via fines etc. But, what about the fact you hardly ever respond to death certification calls?
I know for a fact that former Precinct 4 Judge Rolando Muniz answered many of the calls in Harlingen because law enforcement officers could not reach you. I understand present Precinct 4 JP Flores also has to do the same.
So, why don’t you turn in the $5,400 you receive annually in auto expenses to make those calls? What about the monrhly cell phone expense money you receive?
Oh, I almost forgot. How many marriages do you perform in a month? At $80 to $100 per wedding, that certainly puts some money in the bank, right? Perhaps the IRS might want to question those transactions.
I am informed that in fiscal year 2009-2010 Harlingen police called for you to make 40 death notifications. You only made three.
Another matter is several people have complained that you were very rude to them when dealing with your office. How do you respond to that?
Leave the 8-liners long enough to sit down and figure out your situation in a rational manner. I think you might not be so ready to continue.
P.S. Bennie Ochoa, you also have lots of guts going to the grievance board for more pay. I say no way to you too.

Mr. Editor, the citizens of Northern Cameron County will not sit idle and let this woman live anymore off the county.
We have plenty of those, A.De La Garza, Joe Rivera, Tony Izaguirre, Armando Villalobos, and several judges.
Ms. Gonzalez, you are on your way out, pay raise or no pay raise, remember Judge Wise, he to thought, he was unbeatable.

Well here comes the judge, and what a whale of a judge, maybe if she gets the raise, she can hire a trainer.
Politicians, have no shame in Cameron County, Omar Lucio, was hired at $65.000 and as soon as he got elected he asked for a raise and now makes $94.000.
Time to vote out this leeches out, all of them. Lets clean Cameron County Hall of Justice.

The gall of this woman, to ask for a raise, when Cascos is telling us to get ready for a property increase. Pinches politicians, they only think about themselves.

Mr. Editor: Is it true, Jp's see this as part-time work??? Wow, over $44,000 for part time work, excuse me, where do I sign up.

I have a question for all??? When did she win the Wimbledon Tournament??? That's what she is holding up, right??? The gall of this woman asking for a raise when she doesn't complete 75% of her duties??? She feels that she is due because she has worked for the county over 30 years??? Does she forget that she started when she was a very, very young girl??? A girl with only a high school diploma??? She ought to be happy that she got re-elected and kept her job??? I am willing to bet that she will probably support that other over weight relative or hers, Angela??? Angela is that big blob of lard that takes up a lot of Constable (loosely titled) Lupe Gonzales office. You know the same woman that took Lupe Gonzales' test for him so he could retain his license??? That's another joke in law enforcement, Gonzales??? He's never in the office and has been out due to health issues but counts on Angela to cover, lie and cheat on time sheet for him??? Angela, Austin is aware of what you are doing??? Be careful???

Get a grip everyone. 44K for a JP, that is peanuts. They should at least get 55K. But then those of you that are commenting on here do not know what your are talking about.

Lupe Gonzalez was no more than a patrolman for over 25 years at the HPD, and got elected as constable, God only knows why.
He too has forever, lived out of Tax-payers for many years, first from the city of Harlingen, now from Cameron County, vamonos, lla es tiempo de votarlos para afuera.

Most of those people are lard asses, they could never, hold a regular job. They have it easy with the county, can you imagine buffalo butt Aurora de La Garza working in a real job, or Sallie Gonzalez, or Angela, they wouldn't last.

Ex-county employee, this matter should have been reported to the texas Rangers, or the fbi.
Lupe Gonzalez, was never a sargeant, or a Lt, or a Capt. in the Harlingen policed dept. and I don't think he has any college hours. Puros pinches flonkes.

Anon: (Jps $55.000,) you are joshing people, we know what we are talking about, most of these losers have high diplomas. They are not educated, do you want me to tell you the responsibilities of a jp. They are laughable, and Sallie will be voted out of office.
Like or not.

Well, it seems that Gonzales listened to her constituents and pulled her grievance??? She stated that, "after discussing with family and that stress, etc..." I think that is a "sign for her" to give it up??? If she can't handle the stress is indicating that she has some serious medical issues??? Its no secret that she has had medical issues in the past??? That's all part of getting up in age??? Her comment only means that she is admitting that her medical condition is limiting her from doing her job??? Lets see what happens in the future??? There are a couple of people contemplating running against her??? This is the time??? She has burned a lot of bridges with her faithful supporters??? People are finally getting tired with these "free-loaders" who have been in office for a long time???
