OLIVEIRA TRYING TO WINE AND DINE HIS WAY TO 15TH TERM

By Juan Montoya
You probably saw the ad in the Brownsville Herald today where Texas Dist. 27 State Rep. Rene Oliveira is holding his campaign opening bash at a local  popular watering hole.
In fact, if you look at his campaign expenditure and contribution reports, tonight's binge is but the latest of the movable feast that Rene has embarked on since he last ran two years agowining the night  for his 14th term in office. Expenditure after expenditure has to do with dining and away with "supporters and constituents" at the poshest sports bars here, in Austin, and – as ZZ Top used to say – all points in between.
He's gotten so bad, in fact, that even his chief of staff J.J. Garza warned him in an internal memo dated July 12, 2011, that he should be preparing answers to the questions that could come from reporters once they started looking over the expense report filed covering the period from January 1 to June 30, 2011. Oliveira reported that in that period, he had spent $40,063 and had received no contributions. However, he also reported that he had $159,519.27 left in his war chest for the coming primary election in 2012.
"I think you need to develop a satisfactory answer to the following facts of the (expenditure report)," Garza wrote.
"In the 181 days (your account) paid for meals and/or drinks form supporters and/or constituents almost 200 times (actually 197) for a total of more than$13,000 (actually $13,360). In some cases these expenditures occurred as many as four times in a day, and make up one-third of your total expenditures.
"Fifty six of those times were valley establishments – 50 times during the regular session and six times during the special session. This means that you entertained supporters and constituents in Austin about 150 times during the 140-day regular session. Considering that often theAustin week is less than a full week – the House met in session just 101 of those 140 days – that means means you were entertaining supporters or constituents an average of 1.5 times per day the House was in session.
Over the 181 day reporting period, you average almost $74 per day in entertaining expenses.
"Why do you need to spend so much, when your Valley colleagues are spending as little as 10 to 20 percent of what you are spending on supporters and constituents?," Garza asks in his memo?
"I think you should prepare yourself for heavy criticism from them and their readers," Garza warns the festive rep.
How far out of touch has Rene gotten from us, his constituents? Read the following from Wikipedia:
"The median income for a household in Cameron County was $26,155, and the median income for a family was $27,853. Males had Austin Land and Cattle, 291 West, Capitol Grill, J Blacks, etc..,
One beneficiary of his party-hardy largess was Jones Liquor where he dropped $77, $210, and $222 at a time to quench the cottonmouthsof his "supporters and constituents."
For all you readers who contribute to the Oliveira campaign, is your money being well spent? And if he's partying her and in Austin when he's supposed to on the floor of the House minding our business, who's running the show? And would he even be missed if he was gone?
One more telling statistic: A 2000 Texas A&M study stated that of the residents of Cameron County, 43 percent do not have basic literary skills.
Bottoms up, Rene!

This is the one politician that fights for us in Austin, has the influence to get us what we need, and you try to bring him down? That's why we are in the shape we're in. We should applaud Mr. Oliveira and be grateful that we have an effective legislator - that's what other parts of this state do when the have a strong, effective, influential leader.

I just had a Veteran leave my home because the VA cut his pay from $972.00 a month to $245.00 a month. He does not know how he is going to pay hes rent. I am going to get in touch with blake Farenthould office for help. Meanwhile Rene Oliveria is spending his money to wien and dine people who will vote for him for another term. Alejandro will beat his in this election and put an end to the lunch for a vote? Eddie Lucio Jr and the III are in the same boat we have a very high number of poverety but they are living high off the hog. Where do they get their money ??? From their friends for whom they do favors. I know Eddie the III got the highschools in Texas to sell new football helments to all of the schools. Even though it is well established that helments do not prevent neck injuries or fracturs. I bet there are many sports industries happy about Eddie helping them out that way.
Alex Torres is more interested in the everyday living in the district. So put your money to work Eddie and get some from daddy for your election.

Fred, why don't you tell us all what Hanoi Jane would do in such a situation as the one mentioned above? C'mon, we all know how much you'd love to.

I was asked to come here to defend my friend and fellow veteran Fred Rendon. He is a very educated individual who knows everything there is to know about the wars and the enemies that exist in southeast asia. Many times we are suddenly amazed, while sitting at the bar at the VFW, that Mr. Rendon suddenly buys us all a round and starts to impress us with his knowledge about the communist gook whore known as Hanoi Jane. To us veterans at the VFW Mr. Rendon is a great hero. He deserves several Medal of Honors. Because he has told us that he killed many gooks.

Hey Dagoberto,

I heard when he was in Nam he fucked a couple of gooks. When you were in Koria did you get the urge to stick your tiny, Mexican hating pecker in a couple of chinks? Are you spouting mad rants all the time because you are old and the viagra stopped working or because even with a hard dick the wife can't feel it.

Sincerely,
Bob Euresti

YEAH REALLY GET OVER YOURSELF !!!!!!

Old bug eyes need to go!!! He should be donating that much money to school, homeless shelters, and various others. Instead of his ugly fat self and the young girls he chases after. Enough is Enough!!
