Even when they try to correct a screw-up, the crew at the University of Texas-Texas Southmost College "partnership" just seem to keep digging their hole deeper.
Take, for example, the email sent by UTB-TSC Provost Alan Artibise Dec. 19 to the 1,400 UTB-TSC graduates apologizing for the badly-managed commencement ceremonies where graduates and their families could not find parking spaces and found chaos when they tried to find out where their class commencement would be held.
Artibise defends the mess that resulted by saying that this was only the second time that the ceremonies had been held indoors due to inclement weather. He also says that college and university personnel had been informed before hand on the proper procedures to follow.
This, of course, is a small consolation to the students and families that had to put up with this amateurish performance on the past of the university administration.
But perhaps the most glaring oversight is Artibise's premature tendency to call the students UTB graduates and to identify himself as the UTB Provost.
After all, the "partnership" will not dissolve until 2015 and – like it or not – will remain UTB-TSC until then. We don't blame the man for trying to bolt early, but since we are still paying for his services, perhaps just a slight acknowledgement that he still works for the partnership would not be too much to ask.

Artibise may be a nice guy and a smart UTB-TSC and parking is one thing she never factored in to the new Fine Arts Building, the Science and Technical Building (SETB)...and she took parking away from Jacob Brown for the benefit of the Fine Arts Building. The UTB Adminstration is in turmoil and we can expect the fight to continue over the separation. I thought it very hipocritical of David Oliviers to miss TSC meetings, but then show up to kiss Juliet's ring at graduation. Oliviera and Lil' Bobby Robles are losers.
Julieta's signature should be on that letter of apology.
