By Juan MontoyaNext time you walk over to the Brownsville Municipal Court to plunk down your $15 for being in a hurry on your way to court and not noticing that you were parked in a red no-parking zone, remember these pictures.
The driver of the black Cadillac, with its marked state official license plate bearing a Rene Oliveira campaign sign, had no qualms about leaving the snazzy vehicle at a clearly-marked no parking area right in front of the Cameron County Courthouse and Elections Office.
As onlookers passed by, they could notice that no other vehicles had
taken the same liberties as had the motorist using Rene's car.Now, we don't know whether it was just a careless staffer making an innocent mistake or whether this is what lawmakers are used to in Austin.
(We later found that indeed it was Rene, the Chief, as his staffers call him who took it upon himself to flaunt the rules meant for little people.)
We don't even know if the car was issued a parking ticket by the usually hyper-efficient meter maids (and garcons) who prowl Harrison Street in search of like violators. However, a few people obviously did notice that Rene's car was brazenly left in the no-parking area so coveted by many courthouse visitors who must often trek a half block or more to do their business at the courthouse after encountering the parking lots and side streets filled to capacity.
Of course, the driver could park at the public parking lot at the corner of 8th Street and Harrison if the parking lot in front of the courthouse was full, but then that means that he (or she) would have to walk like the rest of us.
Some may say we're nitpicking. And we could be, but after having paid a few parking violations ourselves for less brazen parking further from the front doors of the courthouse, you can't blame us for being a little sore that Rene isn't like the rest of us mere mortals, can you?

One of these days a business owner is finally going to get fed up with Ryan Wolfe's self-righteous attitude and will clock him one right on his pie hole. I hate that a-hole's arrogant grin when confronting hard working small business owners or minimum wage employees. His claim of, "I'm protecting the public" is laughable.

This is yet another indication that Rene Oliviera should be defeated in this election. He continues to flaunt his "special status" over the other "mere citizens" of this community. He violates laws others are expected to abide by. The Herald and other blogs have failed to investigate the status of his "accident" on Frontage Road in near Cheddar's a few months ago. His "uninsured" car rammed into the back of a van and Rene apparently ran away and had his girl friend take the hit for the accident. Then, Melissa Zamora tried to cover up things and meddle with the police investigator. Rene Oliviera is a DICK!
Pay the insurance on your car Rene!
If you don't like the way Rene drives, stay off the sidewalk. And if you don't like the way Rene parks in the fire lane, double-check the inspection dates on the fire extinguishers if you work at the courthouse.
If this is not an abuse of authority by a lazy politician and worthless womanizer! Hey Rene that's why you're such a healthless pig! Women only do you because of your title and money and getting them out of trouble with the law! There is no way that you are going to walk around in the future without the Feds looking over your shoulder. Maybe a letter is being saved for you?
