By Juan MontoyaDespite the tempest in a teapot roiled when Tad Hasse, candidate for TSC Trustee, Place 6, announced that some of his supporters would serve as gaming hostesses at his Fabulous Casino Night scheduled for Tuesday as French Maids and carelessly called them "girls," the bash is on from 6:30 till 10:30 p.m. at the Days Inn.
Hasse hopes the brouhaha caused by the politically incorrect faux pas has been left behind and says that his campaign against opponent Dr. Reynaldo Garcia is going like gangbusters.
Hasse insists that raising funds is merely incidental to what one blogger called "an evening of decadence, including catered food and gaming hosts attired as French maids.
"The costumes were just delivered today," Hasse said. "We'll see how the ladies want to wear them on Tuesday."
In a campaign where casinos nights, Mexican Loterias, coffee klatsches and traditional beer keg pachangas have all become part and parcel of a South Texas campaign, the Hasse bash should provide an interesting change of pace, especially in Hasse's case being as he is a Boy Scout leader in the South Texas area.
"We're going to have a good time on the way to election day," he said. "Rejoignez-nous (join us)."

Carlos Garcia had poker gambling nights at the amigo land convention center with his officers doing security. What's the difference? They even had BPD do security at no charge. This happened on several occasions.
El rrun rrun will take over local politics because the cheez screwed up and attacked a candidate for personal reasons. I have no dog in the race, but if you want to be treated like media, act like it. Unbiased and give facts on all candidates! Trust me their buddies Abel Gomez and Masso have much more recent stuff to hide than an old scandal
