ELECTIONS OFFICE RELEASES "FINAL" BISD TOTALS

JOSE HECTOR CHIRINOS: 14.722
LINDA GILL-MARTINEZ: 14,718*

OTIS POWERS: 16,140
ARGELIA MILLER: 13,304

CATY PRESAS GARCIA: 12,584 (ALSO ELECTED VICE-PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD)
J.M. "BUTCH" BARBOSA: 8,645
DON CLUPPER: 8,198

MINERVA PENA: 19,963
SHIRLEY ANN BOWMAN: 9.2234

Current BISD president Enrique Escobedo will remain president of the board. Lucy Escobedo and Dr. Christina Saavedra make out the rest of the board.
*Gill-Martinez said she will ask for a recount well she should because someone just noticed that of the 600 provisional votes, the military mail-ins and the "lost" precinct ballots only 26 votes were added to the original results reported a week ago Tuesday (Nov. 6). That does seem like too few for so many late votes. We, of course, shall see if Gill-Martinez decides to pay for a hand recount.
Incidentally, the race between Pct. 1 incumbent constable Horacio Zamora and Pedro "Pete" Delgadillo also only changed by three votes, all going to Zamora. The election-day totals were Zamora 2,501 to Delgadillo 2,500. After the provisional and military mail-in votes were counted that total rose to Zamora, 2,504 to Delgadillo 2,501.
Will there be a recount on that one as well?

Gill-Martinez better "ask" with her campaign checkbook open. Recounts are NOT free. She has to pay for the privilege.

jmon, why is it whenever you write about cata you seem to always be bias for her. like in this article you had to write oh cata was also voted vp of the board? I mean minerva was also voter an officer of the board, yet you dont mention it. Or how u always make cata out to be innocent. Why is that? She is the only person you have honestly never wrote negative about her, but only when it comes to the other board members who are not on her "team"? And when there is something negative you try twisting it into a positive manner. but then again I can see why your a blogger and not a journalist.

To all you BISD parents and voters for that "He-She" Caty Presas and Minerva "Perve Protector" Pena! Your vote just made sure that BISD Police Department will be de-commissioned and only minimum wage security guards will be protecting your children! They have it in for BISD Chief and feel that this is the only way to get rid of him? Don't believe me? Ask any BISD Officer or ask them yourself and get the lie!

Who is Luci Escobedo? Escobedo is president and Caty is VP. Who are the secretary and ass't secretary. No one wants to give us the word, especially the BH. All of us should hold a fund raiser for Gill to get her the $4000 she needs for the recount. This is not fair nor professional.

I heard that she has the cash but she's really having some issues with the amount of weed she could buy with $4,000 clams!

No!! There are not the final totals.
They are going to come up with the miracle votes from nowhere.

Some people dis like Otis and Chirinos so much, they will gladly help Linda do the recount.

1 dollar from every person who voted for Linda will triple that amount! Open an account somewhere and let CAVA oversee it.

If it were not for the plurality rule, Caty is a goner! Does she not realize that over 16,000 people voted against her and only 14,000 didn't know any better. It is sad that candidates do not weigh the situations before they decide to run for a position. The vote is split so bad when we have more than 2 candidates, but I guess that is what a democracy is all about. Why is it plurality and not majority, I wonder? Is this a state law or local?

So many people dislike Caty and she believes that they actually like her. Only the vendors on the take like Caty and so do their family members. Caty keeps the contracts flowing to those who pay her cash for the deals. No law enforcement can do anything to her because it is very difficult to trace cash payments. Brownsville you had a chance to get her out, but you could not decide between Clupper or Barbosa. They helped her get re-elected. Now they are all sad! Well lets just pray that the others on the Board will change their way of thinking and wise up to Caty's ways. Only time will tell. God help BISD!

Escobedo is so threatened by Luci that he is keeping her out from everything.
