It had been rumored far and wide that City of Brownsville Commissioner Melissa Zamora had a lock on the Public Information Officer slot after Bill Young retires at the end of this year.
It had also been rumored that Zamora – a former journalist and public relations professional – would run for the Cameron County District Clerk's Office when Aurora De la Garza retired, was indicted, or both.
Now we have found out that Zamora, who at one time was the office manager for Cameron County Judge Carlos Cascos before she was let go, will replace Jason Moody as spokesperson for incoming Cameron County District Attorney Luis Saenz.
Zamora is also a senior advertising executive with the Elite Promotions and has worked for various political campaigns, including State Representative Rene Oliveira's.
Members of the Saenz transition team have confirmed as much. But that's not all.
It is also rumored that Zeke Silva, who was disqualified from running for the Brownsville City commission two years ago and was Saenz's campaign manager, may get the position as Community Outreach officer for the District Attorney Office.
Silva, whether you like him or not, has a successful trucking company and has been been involved the community for many years.
Aside from his involvement and being a board member of the Mr. Amigo organization, he has been a sponsor of the Sunny Glen Children Home in San Benito for the past eight years. He is also the pat president of The Wine of Love Ministries which is an outreach for both men and women at the Cameron County jails where he also oversaw the Real Freedom 12-step program.
Like Zamora, he has been involved in the Hooked for Life Silva which provides children an opportunity to fish through providing transportation through his company. Among the events and groups he has sponsored are La Posada de Los Ninos with Jimmy Gonzalez, Christmas for Kids with the BPD, and different fundraising events with the IAFF and the Brownsville Fire Fighters.
Saenz has been gearing up to take over the DA's Office after his predecessor, Armando Villlalobos leaves office at the end of the year. Villalobos faces racketeering charges and was indicted by the federal government.
To date, some 30 former DA employees have received pink notices after Saenz required everyone to reapply to work at the office.

Sounds like more of the same crap.
Has Melissa ever had a job that she didn't quit or get fired? What can she do? She ran for city commission as someone who could exercise independent judgment and represent the people. Immediately after her election she rolled over to local forces and has bent over for certain special interests. She ran interference for Rene Oliviera when he and a friend ran into the back of a van on Frontage Rd. near Cheddars. Rene ran away and left his friend with the charges and ran away from his car that was not insured. Melissa defended him and tried to challenge the police investigation. Seems to me that she is well suited to take over any corrupt office in the county and continue that corruption as she serves herself and her massive ego. Say no to Melissa.
That stupid bitch doesn't know the first thing admit servicing the community. What a disgrace to the great job that Mr. Young has done over the years. There goes all of the truth in Brownsville. Why bother asking.....

Melissa as office manager for Cascos, yeah for about 3 weeks till she and the bleach blond amazon lady got into a real cat fight and threw Melissa out. But remember the big blond had about 40 pounds on Melissa, hell, she even had about 30 pounds on Cascos and would reign him in whenever he didn't pay the proper attention to him. Some probably remember the time Cascos had cut a deal with Armando Villalobos to transfer the big blond to Villalobos office so he, Villalobos, could terminate her after 2 months. When she, the big blond, figured it out she promptly whipped Cascos with every four letter word she could think of and explained to the county judge that he had her and he was going to keep her at least till she could finish her degree at the local higher education facility while on county time. Speaking of Cascos, is he running as a Dumbocrat or a Repukican against Fil Vela? He was heard to say he was running at the big Escobedo christmas party last week. Some heard Dumbocrat, while others heard him say Repukican. Is he really such a switch hitter?

Saenz is a corrupt prick! They're all corrupt, Zamora, Silva and Saenz. People wanted change in this county? You have never seen corruption like you will see under Saenz!
Only time will tell with those two? Melissa Zamora is nothing more than a walking piece of ass with a cave about the size of Carlsbad Caverns. George Gavito looking for a job? Saenz is a step back into the traditional corruption of the party. Melissa Zamora should do fine as information officer. It's not rocket science. If I were Mrs. Saenz, I might be a bit worried about Melissa around the office. Zamora might have some alternative uses for that long mustache Luis carries.
As for Zeke, he worked long and hard for Luis. He's earned a job, although do guys with successful trucking companies usually apply for work?

When she found out that Luis Saenz was not going to give her what she wanted, she left office. Word is that, Luis Saenz was singing "Goodbye" from the Sound of Music as she walked out the door?
