The plot thickens.
Not only was the qualifications and requirements changed to accommodate the rehiring of Horacio Zamora as Chief Park Ranger, now we understand that he didn't even make the top five.
Insiders say that at the request of Pct. 3 Commissioner David Garza. Zamora's name was added to the list and his hiring pushed by Pct. 4 Commissioner Dan Sanchez.
If you'll recall, Zamora was beaten by Pete Delgadillo for the Pct. Constable spot last December by a slim margin after a recount of the vote. Commissioners then voted to reestablish the Park Ranger Department and were tying to do it so Zamora would no lose out on his pay. However, when the job was posted, a bachelor's degree was inadvertently included among the qualifications. This effectively eliminated Zamora from the running. Not to worry.
Human Resources and legal counsel changed the requirement and inserted the word "preferably" instead.
Of the 12 people who applied the first time, Zamora was not one of the finalists. Now with these new revelations, it would appear that he didn't make the cut the last time but had to have Garza and Sanchez run interference for him.

The Dumbokrats prefer collusion and manipulation to effective governance in Cameron County. Dan "Neanderthal" Sanchez, Sofia "The Pawn" and Ernie "Slug" Hernandez are working hard to maintain corruption that protects them....but they continue to disregard the people of the county. In the absence of leadership from the County Judge (who, like the Pope seems to have abdicated already) the Dumbokratics seem ready to continue the corruption that brought us "Disable" Limas, Conrado Cantu, Gilberto Hinojosa, "Mando" Villalobos and a littany of party officials who have used public service for personal gain. This failure of local leadership is the reason that McAllen and the upper Valley are progressing, while we drift into dispair. Dan Sanchez seems glad to push the county further into the abyss just to achieve his personal political goals. Dan Sanchez is a Neanderthal DICK!
Commissioner David Garza is the primary reason Zamora was appointed to fill the vacant Constable position a few years ago. What does Zamora have on Comm. Garza, or did Garza do it just to garner Port Isabel votes for his re-election?

Time to give our Criminal Justice graduates a chance at a job, not continue to hire under-educated people just because they have been loyal Democrats. The cesspool that is Democratic Party politics in Cameron County continues to stink up the place.
Let me get this straight, they advertised for the position. Qualified persons applied, but the "anointed one" did not make the cut.
So they throw out the applications of these qualified persons, with the reasoning of "we need to water down the requirements to allow the "anointed" one to make the cut".
Really? could not the applicants that were deemed "not qualified" (read not connected enough)sue for discrimination?
