WHO ELSE COULD THE "COMPROMISED" SOLIS CONNECTION AT DISTRICT CLERK'S OFFICE BE?

By Juan Montoya
Now that Mark Rosenthal is cooling his heels in the clink after federal judge Andrew Hanen ruled he was in contempt of court for violating the terms of his conditional release while awaiting trial, the testimony of convicted racketeer Jim Solis allowed a glimmer of information to let observers guess who his connection in the Cameron County District Clerk's Office could be.
Solis, turning state's evidence after his conviction following former 404th District Judge Abel Limas plea bargain with the feds, said that his connection at the district clerk's office was malleable as far as placing lawsuits in "friendly" courts because that person was "compromised."
That meant that attorneys like Rosenthal, Solis and later Limas, could just about dictate which courts they wanted their cases to be heard. After Limas left, that court was the 357th District Court presided over by Leonel Alejandro, who resigned in mid term in December.
But who would be compromised to such an extent that the lawyers could count is a cinch to do their favors.
We have Rosei Sotello, the clerk in charge of placing civil suits and Eric Garza, in charge of criminal cases.
But these are the little fish. They are like the good German soldiers who do as they told. And even though that defense didn't hold water in the Nuremberg trials, apparently both came clean with federal prosecutors when they were interviewed.
But if you want to talk about compromised in terms of a case with a personal interest that only leaves their boss Aurora De la Garza. The case (you guessed it) is the one involving her son Joey's embezzlement of thousands of dollars from the Sunshine Haven Hospice in Olmito.
We never did get a firm number on the extent of the pilferage young Joey perpetrated at the hospice, but we have been assured that it was not the $87,000 he had to pay in restitution to the organization set by Limas during a half-hour court hearing on a Friday afternoon. Members of the board of the hospice say the total was much higher than that, perhaps double or more.
In that case, District Attorney Armando Villalobos assented to the sentence, and none of the victims were notified that the hearing was being held before Limas' court. It was a drive-by judicial process in the classic sense of the word.
So what if, some of us wonder, these attorneys had Aurora "compromised," and had their way in the county's courts through her office?
When the feds came knocking, we understand that Sotello thought her bosom buddy Aurora was truing to dump the blame on her. So instead of trying to protect her boss, she spilled. And spilled. And spilled.
About all anyone can imagine is that the federal prosecutors have Aurorita listed in an unsealed list of rebuttal witnesses in case one of the principals testifies contrary to the evidence the feds present.
In any case, Aurora's days as a public official are obviously numbered and the political buzzards flying over Brownsville skies can sense the stench of her political carcass miles up in the sky.

Now we understand that Aurora may have protection from the new Cameron County District Attorney, Luis Saenz. Saenz wife is related to Aurora and we understand she is a staunch defender of Aurora....regardless of her corruption. So, now we will see of Senor Luis Saenz wears the pants in that family and protects Aurora, or will he try to keep political promises to the public and protect his legacy. Our guess is that Luis will side with his wife and protect Aurora. Luis Saenz has long been a part of the "injustice" system in Cameron County and political corruption...and we don't think he has changed. We believe the Cameron County Democratic Party will continue to protect Aurora and it will take the federal investigators to effect change here.

Oye Montoya! It is getting very interesting now! Rosenthal in jail, about time! Way to go Hanen! Somebody with power and money might get away with that shit in other places BUT not here! Stop and think about it? Solis was a State Rep when he was corrupting our judicial system? Do you think he would go to a "peon" to bribe and corrupt the assignment of cases? Watch Out Aurora De La Garza! Your reign is coming to an end!

Aurora de la Garza set the rules/policies for her office and she is ultimately responsible for corruption that gave "special" cases to "special" judges. We also have to believe that her entire staff was a part of the corruption that Aurora set up. The old saying "Shit floats" means that Aurora de la Garza has continued to float at the top of her office stool and she should be held responsible......and her underlings as co-conspirators.

AS a former employee of the District Clerk's office, you can't imagine the shenanigans that Rosie Sotello and Eric Garza did. Rosie normally came into the office about 9am and recorded her arrival time at 8am(remember she used to live on the Island). Then her 1.5 to 2 hour lunches were always recorded to show 45 minutes to an hour. But she usually got back from lunch in time to leave for the Island by 4pm. You said it. Sotello is in charge of court assignments in civil suites --- the big ones were civil suites! It takes a lot of gas to travel back and forth to the Island, and if you noticed, Rosie moved back to Brownsville about the time all of this was hitting the fan.

People. Now that we know that Aurora de la Garza or someone in de la Garza's office was assigning cases to Limas' court, why hasn't Aurora fired that someone in her office who was involved in the Limas case? Seems Aurora is just protecting this person or for that matter herself. But people lets not get our hopes high. Statue of limitation may expire soon on these crimes and without an indictment against all these people nothing will ever get done. You see, the government wants to get to the main players and will do whatever they can to do that. That means that if the feds want more bigger criminals, they may make a deal with Aurora and her staff not to get them indicted and charged for their crimes in return for their cooperation. Just like they allowed Limas wife not be charged in this case. She and Limas son were really involved and know what Limas was doing. Wasnt Limas wife even picking up checks and cash for Limas? And she did not get charged and will not be charged because Limas is giving the feds what they want to hear. So people dont hold your breath about seeing Aurora or the staff that assigned the cases to Limas court indicted and charged because they may be cooperating in return for not being indicted and charged. I would love to see Aurora indicted and charged especially because of the role she played in her son the thief Joey de la Garzas theft case against Sunshine Haven. Stupid fucken fat ass worthless selfish assholes. They all deserve to be in prison.

Hope Judge Hanen goes hard on Ursula (Aurorota)!

Aurora started her political career by working for and screwing D. J. Lerma (Judge of the County Court at Law). She has been screwing the people of Cameron County for well over 40 years. Time to pull the plug on her. Enough is enough!!!
