In his own crude version of "I told you so," foiled Brownsville Independent School District board candidate Donald Clupper is now posting on his Cheezmeh fan page that if the voters had elected him to the board last year, the proposed layoffs of 779 employees by the administration would not have happened.
"After I got over the shock, I realized that this is exactly what I had predicted would happen," Don laments.
"At the time I pleaded with the Association of Brownsville Educators members to endorse me for the school board so I could have a chance to make millions in cuts without eliminating employees."Instead, they gave their their endorsement to a political hack without any financial or educational background," he says. "Now, unfortunately, BISD's employees and students will have to pay the price for such a self-serving decision."
The AOBE did endorse Butch Barbosa in that election. Barbosa and Clupper lost to Catalina Presas Garcia in November. Presas-Garcia was the chair of the budget committee which – as Clupper wanted to do – oversaw two BISD budget years without layoffs, going to the fund balance, or laying off any employees.
But wait! All hope is not lost.
Don says that he had thought about not running for the BISD because he knew the teachers' unions would not support him "because I won't pander to them with bribes and favors."
However, due to popular demand he is announcing to the voters and BISD employees that he will renounce his refusal to represent them on the board to show those greedy interests that he stands for all that's good and right.
So there you have it. BISD just had it's first candidate for 2014.
We don't need no stinking union endorsement, B'Gawd!

Clupper is yet another "Anglo" who lost because he is "Anglo". Remember, as Dr. Tony Zavaleta has been known to say, "Corruption is a part of the Mexican culture and we should accept it." And here in Cameron County, we don't just accept corruption, we demand it. Another reason no "Anglo" can expect to be elected....especially to BISD.

Time for honest folks for representation the way a school trustte should be not like all these venditos types using the lame excuse that "I am all for the kids" puro pedo type candiates, need someone with a spine, backbone, honesty integrity, not a sell out or cop out.
No Anglo should expect to be elected if he plays the race card; because if he does, he should lose because this county is over 99% Hispanic. Fair is fair. Live with it, accept it, embrace it - OR LEAVE!
Typical anglo response after the fact. Clupps rues losing election. Romney rues losing election. What's in common. A) both are losers B) both are anglo. Difference is one lost to our best ever president and the other to hispanics. Ass kicking they got was not enough. Now they wanna say woe is you. Win or lose elections are over. Donny boy take your ass whupping like a good white boy and get the fuck out of Cameron county. The only difference is rummy went to France to escape being drafted (study abroad). Clapps I don't know if he got a student deferment for the civil war. Vamoose.
