Not only is United Brownsville (Fred Rusteberg, Juliet Garcia, Carlos Marin) pushing for a slate composed of Deborah Portillo and Rose Gowen to solidify their stranglehold on city government, they are also pressing forth with an agenda to replace City Manager Charlie Cabler with one of Garcia's sons.Numerous sources in the business community have reported that Oscar Garcia Jr., the son of UTB-TSC President Juliet Garcia, an anchor of United Brownsville, has been going around town with Ms. Portillo in tow hustling campaign contributions on her behalf.
Get this. Mom is on the United Brownsville board, Ms. Portillo was the executive secretary of that organization, and that Da Mayor Tony Martinez is on the UB executive board. If Gowen and Portillo get elected, it will mean that Rusteberg, Garcia and Marin will continue to run the city from behind the smoke screen of their shadow government.Oscar Garcia Jr. is the director of Su Clinica Familiar's department of Operations and Development. The clinic is run by Dr. Elena Marin, Carlos Marin's wife. Gowen is a doctor at the clinic. She is also a member of United Brownsville.
According to our sources, Garcia Jr. has told businessmen that the fix is in and that if they help him get Portillo is elected, the deal is in for him to replace Cabler at the helm of the City of Brownsville's administration.
It has now become abundantly clear that this election will decide whether a shadowy outfit run by Marin, Martinez, Garcia and Gowen will run the city from behind the scenes while dandonos atole con el dedo that we actually have a city commission elected by the people.

I have always been one of Cabler's strongest critics, but maybe it is time to stay supporting him. My only concern is that he has been in bed with Rusty, Juliet, for years it would seem. Marin and his wife are two of the most crooked and immoral people. Glad that they are being shown under the political spotlight this time making them and their personal issues fair game. There is a lot to talk about. Is Charlie going to fight and win as he usually does? Or will he step down with promises of being propped up. Have they bought him out? When has this portillo and the other alcoholic faced Garcia expressed any interest in Brownsville other than for their own pet projects? something stinks as usual.
How many jobs has Oscarito had in the last 10 years. And serving on PUB board is not a job, it is just a way to give huge contracts to Carlos Marin's companies.

The bottom line, they just want access to tax dollars. Tony has shown he is willing to sacrifice the community and public money to support his "friends". We know that none of the Garcia's can run a city.....so let's support Charlie for now.

Just saw Portillo at the Jewish Temple. Her skirt barely covered her butt. I would guess that the photo of her in this article would indicate that she has been drinking, but it must have been photo shopped, because tonight she did not look half as good.
