NEW FLAGS ERECTED AT VETERANS PARK FOR MEMORIAL DAY

This year's Memorial Day visitors to Veterans Park on Central Blvd. will see the new exhibit of the five flags of the major services recently erected at the park. The USMC, Coast Guard, Navy, Air Force and Army colors are on the southeast corner of the park. If you look closely, the sculpture of Joe Lopez, Brownsville's own Medal of Honor winner is to the right of the flagpoles (adjacent to the palm tree in the far right rear of the photo) facing Central Boulevard. Ceremonies are scheduled there for Monday's holiday.
