A PRAYER FOR ALL OF US ON THIS DAY OF THANKS

Dear God, our Lord, Maker and Creator:
Thank you Lord for giving us the breath of life today and letting us once more bask in the glory of your creation.
Teach us Lord to appreciate the treasures of your love that you have given us, our children.
Teach us, Creator, to seek the counsel and wisdom of those who have led us to your path of light and righteousness, our Elders.
Open our hearts that we may see You in everyone we meet, our brothers and sisters.
Feed them Lord, that hunger for your Spirit.
Shelter those surrounded by the hatred of the unjust.
We pray that you may give comfort to those in bondage and that some day the chains that hold them will be broken so that they may once again walk the path of life with those they love and who love them.
Cover with your mantle of warmth those who bear the chill of lonely lives.
We are selfish, Lord.
But we ask this from you, who gave his only begotten son to shed his live in sacrifice that we – your unworthy children – may be saved.
