He's made it official.
Local attorney Luis Sorola has filed a complaint against JP 2-2 Erin Hernandez Garcia for her refusal to give his office a copy of a civil case he needs to advice a potential client.
Sorola filed his complaint dated Feb. 16 on case number 2014-GTH-00001, an original petition filed by plaintiff Alma Coronado against Brownsville Towing and Iglesia Metodista El Buen Pastor after her car was towed away while parked on the church parking lot.
In his complaint, Sorola says he was approached by a member of the church who had received an order setting a hearing for the case which she said she knew nothing about. The church's board was having a meeting February 17 (Monday) and Sorola was asked to explain the litigation to the board. On February 14, he sent his assistant Kendra Ortiz to Erin Hernandez-Garcia's court to get a copy of the original Petition.
"The judge's clerk informed my secretary that my office cannot get copies of any documents," Sorola wrote. "Judge Hernandez-Garcia appeared and rudely told my secretary that my office will not be getting any copies of any documents. I went back with a formal request for the copies and Judge Hernandez-Garcia called her constables and told me to come into her office with them. I quickly left the courthouse. I have no doubt that she was going to have me arrested. After this incident, Judge Hernandez-Garcia sent an email to the District Attorney and all the Commissioners Court. Again she reverted to name calling and all I want is a copy of a petition."
Sorola included the email sent by Hernandez-Garcia and his formal request along with the complaint.
Hernandez-Garcia, daughter of indicted Pct. 2 Commissioner Ernie Hernandez, is running for reelection, as is her father.
The charges stem from the illegal hiring of his brother-in-law Roberto Cadriel, and inconsistencies between the testimony of the prosecution's witnesses and the three-hour testimony Hernandez gave to a grand jury investigating it. They also deal with alleged Hernandez's involvement in tampering with the testimony of witnesses and government records.
One unrelated charge deals with Hernandez allegedly attempting to have Emergency Management administrator Humberto Barrera reopen an eight-liner business that had been closed by the county.
The indictment includes two counts of official oppression, one count of misuse of official information, two counts of witness tampering, one count of tampering with a government record, one count of obstruction or retaliation, and one count of coercion by a public official.Erin Hernandez-Garcia is running against challengers Yolanda Begum and Jonathan Gracia.
Ernie Hernandez is facing Alex Dominguez, Gary Linan and Leonel Lopez.
Early voting starts Tuesday and runs until February 28. The primary election is March 4.

Vieja babosa. She thinks because her mom and dad have gotten away with a lot of crimes through all theses years, she thinks that she is untouchable. I hope that Luis Saenz looks into this allegation as a violation of the Open Records Act and for Abuse of Office. Even I myself that doesn't have a law license know that all records are public records unless orders by a Judge to be sealed for violence or family code. I don't know how people continue to vote these type of idiots into office. I'm not for either of the candidates running for this office, but the law is the law. Erin is and idiot that has no business in office. Where is the Cameron County Bar Association? Since the Limas fiasco started, we have heard nothing from the Cameron County Bar Association about what they have done to try to stop the county corruption or avoid electing idiot lawyers like Erin into office. The Cameron County Bar Association only honors people for their hard work and collect dues. What is their purpose. The lease they could do is pass a resolution and recommend and file complaints to the State Bar of Texas or the Commission of Judicial Misconduct to try and stop all this crimes going on within the legal community. Enough is enough. Wake up Cameron County Bar Association. Stop focusing on honoring people with their hard work when they haven't earned it. Like when the Association honored Armando Villalobos. Here is he at now? And then last year, District Clerk employee Rosie Sotelo, who retired after being investigated and interviewed and coming close to being indicted with Aurora de la Garza regarding the assignment of the civil cases to Able Limas court. Come on Cameron County Bar Association. Lets get rid of this abuse of our elected lawyers and judges to public office and bring back the integrity back to Cameron County. But I guess that will never happen. All of the Bar and judges and office holders watch after each other and eat from the same plate...
Erin's campaign ad in the Sunday Herald was obviously an attempt to overwhelm the public with statistics and bullshit. In her list of statistics she failed to give us the number of marriages she performed for pay; or the number of illegal waivers she gave couples. Erin's campaign ad and Ernie's campaign ad on the same day in the Herald reflect their gigantic egos and their arrogance. They seem to think they are responsible for everything that has happened in the county; and Ernie reflects on his "accomplishments" as a city commissioner....having nothing to do with this election. These arrogant assholes need to be sent home. Perhaps Ernie's ad should have reflected his indictment.... Just say NO to the Hernandez Klan
This corruption started when the port district used the
$ 20,000,000 in payments to consultants here in USA and Mexico
and the attorneys and Judges saw no one was blamed ! !
Thanks port commissioners for changing Cameron County forever ! !
This corruption continues because the "good" people in the county, including elected officials, have not demonstrated any moral courage to challenge those who are corrupt. Neither of the ladies employed by the district clerk's office should be elected because over the years they failed to exercise moral courage to challenge the corruption of Aurora de la Garza...they are therefore guilty by association and failure to act. Joe Rivera should not be elected for the same reason...he failed to do anything to stop corruption in the county.
Maybe they can also file a lawsuit on
Mr.Amigo Association for fraud in last year's
rip off on sponsors and sponsorships.
Who was president of the Cameron County Bar Association when it "honored" Armando Villalobos?
This same towing company tried to tow my car with me in it while I parked briefly on the red zone. As the driver reversed and got off to hitch my car I reversed and therefore could not hitch my car. This happened three times until he I left. I understand that I did wrong by parking in the red zone, but it was only about 2 minutes, car was on and not left unattended. He could of just told me to move. They are just a bunch of opportunistic thieves.
La Zorra no se ve la Cola.
She and her father are IDIOTS thinking that they are going get back into office....see reality!!!
It's my understanding that,"Mrs. Legal Experience" was asking for advise from all the elected officials, which she Emailed, pertaining to this matter with Mr. Sorola, as to just how she handle the situation! Aren't you the attorney, the JP, and the legal expert? Fat, demon faced, Hog! What an idiot!
KEEP UP THR PRESSURE SOROLA...DON'T BACK DOWN ON THIS LITTLE C__T. FOR BEING AN ATTORNEY SHE...S__KS BIG TIME??? HER TIME ARE NUMBERED IN OFFICE...TIME TO REPLACE HER>>>>VOTE PLEASE.
I DON'T KNOW HOW LONG ITS BEEN SINCE THE DAs OFFICE REQUEST AN AGs OPINION ON THE 72 HOUR WAVIER...BUT I THINK ITS GETTING PRETTY CLOSE TO SOME DECISSION???? 'I THINK'...
