DOMINGUEZ NABS SIGN, POLES, THIEF IN THE ACT

By Juan Montoya
With still almost three months to go before the runoff election May 29, campaign aides for Cameron County Pct. 2 Commissioner candidate Alex Dominguez nabbed a man who claimed he was taking down his signs so they wouldn't fly into the street.
The man in the photo at right was equipped with a step ladder to reach the ties holding the sign to the iron poles stuck in the ground.
The sign was standing in the front of the Central Public Library on Central Boulevard.
Dominguez is in a runoff with Leonel "Leo" Lopez for the Democratic Party nomination.
A pair of campaign aides went to the lot after they learned that the tie straps had mysteriously been cut on one side. The sign sits on 10-foot poles and their plan was to put new tie straps in place. When they got there, they were surprised to find the man in the act of forcing the complete removal of the sign. When confronted, he claimed he was trying to remove it so that it would not fly into the street.
When the aides took the photos at right, he fled the scene.
A police report was made.
Another set of poles belonging to Dominguez had also been taken.
City ordinance states that only currently eligible candidates can have their signs up. Democratic senatorial candidate David Alameel and Dominguez still are able to since they are still in the running.
Do you know this man?

Everyone who runs in Brownsville should expect to have some of their posts stolen. Dominguez has just proved to be a crybaby like his sidekick Zeke. Wasting PD's time with petty calls. Grow some balls, you two.

He is either a farmer or rancher who wants to steal the post since they are for fencing? OR, he is a friend of the Hernandez'?

@Anonymous, who is the crybaby now? You're probably a supporter of the losers or one of the losers? Theft is a crime, pendejo or pendeja!
Vote for Alex Dominguez!!!

Really don't think this is politcally motivated. I understand these metal posts are expensive and used for farm fences with a cost of about 8.00 bucks per unit.
Tell Alex not to worry & just shrug it off as part of the campaign expense. It would take a lot of these to get Ernie out of jail. This is plain old THEFT!!! Keep Calm Zeke.

The 9:25 "Anonymous".....if someone was caught stealing something of yours (that you paid for) we assume you would just accept it and look the other way. This is why corruption here is so bad and accepted....because there are so many like this "anonymous" who are willing to accept this kind of thing....among public officials. "Anonymous" is just another ignorant person who assumes that this kind of corrupt action is to be expected and accepted in our community...and anyone who steps up to the plate to stop corruption is just a "crybaby".

@ Pendejo Faithful County Taxpayer:

Of course stealing is wrong but if your nose wasn't so far up Dominguez's ass you would've read my entire comment. Brownsville PD is understaffed and has bigger problems to tend to instead of stolen signs/posts and Zeke's constant bitching about his political opponents. Is this how you want your tax dollars spent? If you seriously think its a legitimate cause then you're a pendejo. If we enjoyed a surplus of cops I wouldn't mind either but we don't.

I have no idea who that old man is but in his defense, the sign was flapping around and two cars that were driving in front of me did swerve into the other lane because it looked like it was going to fly off completely. It was an accident waiting to happen. Its obvious someone cut the straps but I seriously doubt it was the old guy. If one side was already cut when the campaign workers saw it and when they came back they found the man standing on a ladder then it doesn't add up. He would've needed the ladder to cut the other side. Poor guy probably was trying to help but like they say, no hagas nada bueno que parezca malo.
