WILL HERNANDEZES VOTE-HARVESTING REIGN FINALLY END ?

By Juan Montoya
One of the Hernandez candidates is under and eight-count indictment for official corruption.
That's Ernie Hernandez, the current Cameron County Pct. 2 commissioner.
The other, his daughter Erin Hernandez Garcia and her office, is also under the scrutiny of the Cameron County District Attorney's Office for a number of alleged wrongdoings including favors for cash, taking money in return for forgoing community services, and selling fraudulent waivers to the state-mandated 72-hour waiting period between the issuing of a marriage license and the performance of the wedding ceremony.
And along with the Hernandez matriarch, Norma, Erin and Ernie are also under scrutiny by a joint state-federal task force for their roles in the vote-harvesting that went on during Erin's runoff race for the JP 2-2 position against Yolanda Begum.
To add salt to the wound, this comes after the November 2013 conviction of Ernie's administrative assistant Raul Salazar, who was convicted of official misconduct and of tampering with a government document in the illegal hiring of his boss' brother-in-law (and Norman's brother and Erin's uncle). Hernandez took the Fifth in that trial and did not testify on Salazar's behalf.
Salazar was sentenced to 10 months in jail and is free on bond awaiting the result of his motion for a retrial.
Both Erie and Erin Hernandez are up for reelection in the Democratic Party primary election today.
Will the voters finally say "enough" to the Hernandezes, or will they be able to squeeze with enough votes to force a runoff a month from now with one of their opponents?
Depending on the turnout, the ides of March 2014 may mean the end of this family's manipulation of the mail-in and early hauled-in votes of the elderly and infirm in adult day care centers and political oblivion.
That has been left up to the voters of the southeast part of Cameron County in the Pct 2 commissioners and the JP 2-2 race to decide today.
If they so decide, it couldn't happen to a finer bunch.

If Ernie and Erin win, it will be proof positive that the voters of Cameron County "demand corruption". Re-election of the Hernandez Klan will also prove, based on comments by Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, that the reason politics in Washington is so corrupt is because "all politics is local" and our local politics is the basis for the stench of rotten politics coming down from Washington. Let's hope that our voters will move from "incompetence" (The Hernandez Klan) to a vote for more capable government. We hear reports about corruption in government in foreign places (Afghanistan, Venezuela, African states) well we should consider ourselves as part of the world problem....greed, ignorance, complacency, and apathy.

Corruption exists simply because people don't make the effort to go out and vote. That is why we have lousy public officials.

DO a RECOUNT of the Clerk's race, how convenient the ex-election administrator's wife somehow ends up in the runoff, the guy who had all the keys to the election office where the vote disk is kept, yep I do smell a rat, do a recount lets see if the paper ballots even remotely match up pendejo, Fraud here is massive, a guy who stood by dickless while the Hernandez stole election after election, is this his 'reward' right his wife getting some cushy job with benefits, bullshit, are any of those results real let's see, Do a recount. Remember how they 'accidentally' forged the result sheet in Cascos' race. Recount Cris.
