ARGUELLES SIGHTING AT RANCHO VIEJO RESTAURANT

After weeks of wondering at the whereabouts of FINSA scion (and Imagina Matamoros director) Sergio Arguellles, our eyes and ears have told us that he has been sighted having lunch at the Rancho Viejo Golf Course and Resort restaurant.
For weeks, speculation on the elder Arguelles whereabouts (there is a Sergio Jr.) centered on a cancelled business visa that U.S. authorities were said to have confiscated when he landed in New York from a trip to Europe a few months ago.
From there, Arguelles Sr. was said to have flown to Mexico City where other reports indicated he had been detained by Mexican authorities.
Some relatives locally have told friends that Arguelles had taken ill with a bout of pneumonia and had been forced to remain in the Mexican capital. But now that he has been seen locally, we wonder whether he has managed to iron out his problems on both sides of the Rio Grande and is now free to continue doing business.
We take this latest report with a grain of salt because there have been several alleged sightings of the elder Arguelles in social events in Matamoros that have not been confirmed by secondary sources. This latest sighting, however, was reported by a known Arguelles associate.
In the past, his name has surfaced in Mexican law enforcement sources and in major media as being associated in business dealing with the former (and now indicted) Tamaulipas Gov. Tomas Yarrington Rubalcava whose whereabouts are also unknown.
