NUGENT PERSONA NON GRATA BECAUSE OF RACIST REMARKS

A growing number of Native American casinos and other performance venues have closed the door to rocker Ted Nugent after his published hateful remarks about natives, Blacks, Hispanics and immigrants were made known to them.
Nugent, who appeared with Texas governor candidate Greg Abbott and caused a controversy with his bigoted remarks, has had show cancellations already in places like the Coeur d'Alene Casino Resort Hotel in Worley, Idaho, after casino managers were made aware of his slurs against natives, including calling them "dirty vermin."
The Southern Poverty Center has catalogued some of Nugent's rants.

The legendary rocker, who also is on the board of the National Rifle Association, has a “long history of racism, sexism, homophobia, Islamophobia, animus towards immigrants, and propensity to use violence-tinged language,” Media Matters reported earlier this year.

That came after Nugent called President Obama a “subhuman mongrel” and referred to him as a “chimpanzee.” Nugent previously called Obama a Nazi and a “piece of shit” who should “suck on my machine gun.”He once called Hilary Clinton a “toxic cunt” and, on another topic, said, “I’m beginning to wonder if it would have been best [if] had the South won the Civil War.”
Many of Nugent’s offensive comments have been made on stage during concerts, but he also has made some of them as a contributor to World Net Daily, a right-wing publication known for pitching conspiracy theories, anti-gay propagandizing and challenging the authenticity of President Obama’s birth certificate.

The campaign to counter Nugent's hate-filled rants has resulted in scores of negative reviews in support of Native Americans to the Gothic Theater in Denver and to the show Full-Throttle Saloon.
Organizers hope that these theaters and performance venues will not choose bigotry and profits over principle.
According to Ultimate Classic Rock: "Following last week’s decision by an Idaho casino to cancel a Ted Nugent concert, another venue has done the same. The Emerald Queen Casino in Tacoma, WA has removed his Aug. 2-3 shows from their calendar."
Protest to stop Nugent's concerts at the Gothic are already underway by a coalition of Native American and Chicano groups. They promise that if Nugent's concert is still held, an all out boycott against the Gothic will occur. Even though the Native American population is too small for the likes of the Gothic Theatre to worry about in the Denver area, they are organizing the local Hispanic/Chicano/Latino population and its economic buying power to support their cause and hope to build a "better Native American and Indigenous coalition against bigotry."
The Full Throttle Saloon in Sturgins, S.D. is the next target of Native American activists bent on exposing Nugent for his racists views. The protests there is scheduled to begin Aug. 6 near the Full Throttle Saloon.
Nugent told an online magazine that he learned Tuesday of the news that an Idaho Native American tribe had canceled one of his upcoming concerts by lashing out at the “unclean vermin” who made it happen.
The Southern Poverty Law Center caught tribal officials by asking them for a comment on having him perform there. Later that day, the performance had been canceled. He responded in his usual bombastic manner.
"I take it as a badge of honor that such unclean vermin are upset by me and my positive energy,” Nugent told Gannet Wisconsin Media on Tuesday. Put your heart and soul into everything you do and nobody can stop you. Sometimes you give the world the best you got and you get kicked in the teeth. Give the world the best you got anyway.”James “Magaska” Swan President and founder of “United Urban Warrior Society” based out of Rapid City South Dakota said: "Due to his racist comments toward Native American’s, his disrespect for woman (whom we deem sacred), His disrespect for our veterans (They are the Warriors who protect us) and his pedophilia mentality toward our children! (They are our future). If this concert continues as scheduled “WE WILL” rally and protest! And we will not stop on August 7th or after the rally is over. We have nine federally recognized tribal Nations here in South Dakota as well as other Native Nations and countless individual supporters all across the nation."
