Well, 8.3 percent of the people spoke in the runoff elections and gave us four more years of King Tony Martinez and court jester Rick Longoria.

Think of this lineup. King Tony has the jester Rick, feisty prima dona Jessica Tetreau, Deborah Portillo (the jeweler of the stars), Tortilla King John Villarreal, Rose Gowen La Chisquiada (chisca mean bike) and Angel Cesar de Leon, who just arrived here from the coast.

Of 82,568 registered voters, only 6,877 cast a vote. Martinez got 4,280 voted and hapless Pat Ahumada got 2,557. That amounts to a 5.18 percent "mandate" for Martinez and his cronies to continue raiding the cookie jar. In District 1, Longoria got 717 votes to Roman Perez's 509.

Wow. It's wierd to see how elections in Brownsville function. I've never seen someone win (Longoria 509 votes) while getting less than his opponent (Peres 717). #Shocked
About 200,000 people in this city, about 83,000 registered voters and roughly only about 7,000 voted. That's just f___ing SAD! No one care in this town. This place ain't doing me any good, I'm in the wrong town! I used to care, but things have changed. I'm packing my things and gone!
