D.A. SAENZ TO ANNOUNCE LIVINGSTON BACK IN CAMERON

By Juan Montoya
In a spectacular reelection political announcement, Cameron County District Attorney Luis V. Saenz will be on hand – cameras rolling – to receive fugitive killer Amit Livingston who was extradited from his native India where he has been on the run for the last eight years
Sources in law enforcement say that the DA's Office has sought to keep Livingston's arrival hush hush and plans to make it a megamedia event inviting national media broadcasters to be on hand when Livingston gets turned over to local law enforcement.
"You cannot buy this kind of coverage," said a source with the local judiciary. "Luis is going to milk this for all it's worth."
Livingston is scheduled to arrive at the Valley Regional Airport in Harlingen on a 2:30 p.m. flight where Saenz is said to be simultaneously holding a press conference to announce his arrival in Cameron County.
No other law enforcement agencies were said to have been invited to participate, although the sheriff has the responsibility of taking custody of  all prisoners.
"I wonder if Saenz is calling the press conference to thank the feds for doing their job," quipped a courthouse wag. Maybe he'll have (former investigator and sheriff candidate Victor Cortez) there with him."
Last December Saenz also pulled out all the stops – complete with bells and whistles – to announce that Livingston, who was convicted of murdering his former Hermila Garcia Hernandez, had been captured in India and would be extradited.
Livingston was convicted for the 2005 murder in 2007 and was sentenced to 23 years in prison but was allowed to walk free for 60 days by convicted 404th District Judge Abel Limas to "get his affairs in order."
The release was part of a racketeering scheme involving former (and also convicted ) Cameron County District Attorney Armando Villalobos to split a $500,000 cash bond with a lawyer representing the family and to pay off a civil suit. They then split the cash.
Once he absconded, Livingston became the object of a search by the U.S. Marshal's Service, who put out a dragnet that extended from the united States and across the world, including India.
The U.S. Dept. of State issued a press release today indicating that they had located Livingston living in India under an assumed name in 2008, a full four years before Saenz took offices as Cameron County D.A.
Livingston failed to show and managed to elude justice for seven years before he was arrested May 6, 2014, in his hometown of Hyderabad, India, by Indian National Police. He was charged with immigration violations and using false identification in India and sentenced to one year in prison.
According to the Economic Times, Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Ajay Garg recommended the extradition Tuesday, saying the offense was “extraditable.”
“I hereby recommend to the Union of India to extradite the fugitive criminal, Amit Muddamalle Livingston, to requesting state i.e. United States of America,” Garg said in a seven-page order.
Now, aside from traveling to Washington, having several press conference complete with slick graphics and an over-sized photo of the fugitive,
Since his election, Sanez has been milking the case for publicity for all it's worth.
In 2014 he publicized his trip to Washington. This was followed in December with a press conference to remind Cameron County residents (and voters since he is seeking reelection) that he was vigilant and on the job.
And just last week he had another (with bells and whistles) to announce that all that is needed now is a signature of an Indian judge to get "Andy" back to the States.
""You watch," said the court source. "Saenz is going to use Livingston for all he's worth. They bring him in before the primary, it's a campaign winner."

Bullshit. Saenz had nothing to do with this fugitive's capture, it was all the US Marshall. The fact that he wasted taxpayer money to travel to Washington when the Marshall was in charge of extradition and a phone call would've sufficed, is one more reason why he should NOT get reelected.

Saenz should have focused on the job we elected him to do, like clean up public corruption and prosecute the likes of Ernie and Erin Hernandez. That's what he should have focused on. Instead, he is such an integral part of corruption, the feds have to set up a special task force to go after the corrupted public officials because he will not.

You should be embarrassed and ashamed of yourself, Saenz, for standing in front of cameras taking credit for Livingston's capture and return, when you had nothing to do with it. Zero. Zilch. Nada. Your colleagues and intelligent people know you had nothing to do with it. You should feel pretty small trying to deceive the less-informed public, the way you deceived us all when you ran this time.

We will not be deceived by you any longer, Saenz. We saw how you let the Hernandez's get away with their crimes; we saw you profit from the gambling devices you swore you'd smash. You're a fraud Saenz, and your days of cheating and deceiving us are nearly over.

Can we get another graphic, please. One a little more closer to reality. One showing Luis pulling that Andy rabbit out of his ass.

O.K. The next scoop we will be seeing the D.A. pulling a King Cobra from a basket. The Indian government was kind enough to facilitate this gesture of friendship to Brownsville. Da mayor will give his blessings .
