THE LIGHT POLE DOWN, THE START OF A LONG DAY
(Ed's Note: The congestion near the intersection of Hackberry Lane and Old Port Isabel was bad enough already with the widening of the northbound lane to accommodate turning motorists and construction of sidewalks. Now traffic is being diverted off of Hackberry because a two-pickup truck accident that sheared off a light pole at the base. No one appeared to be hurt in the crash, but PUB crews were already on the spot to make emergency repairs to the light pole. So if you're traveling north on OPI or west on Hackberry Lane, you might want to think of an alternate route.)
