By Juan Montoya
In a story that tells how a former guerrilla fighter against the repressive government of her native El Salvador during her formative years blossomed into a diplomatic representative of that Central American nation, Sandra E. Agreda will introduce her first book.
Agreda served as the first consul from El Salvador in the Rio Grande Valley after having left that country's diplomatic corps.
She is being sponsored in her book signing and presentation by the City of Brownsville, the Brownsville Heritage Complex, Texas Southmost College, Goumet Central, Land F Distributors and Delicias Restaurant, Transmigrantes Aguila and the law office of Carlos Monarrez.
It is a story filled with dramatic and heart-breaking moments such as when she fought in the guerrilla against the US-backed repressive military government of El Salvador, seeing her younger brother shot before her eyes by the soldiers, and after victory, going on to the university and joining the diplomatic corps.
MCing the book signing and presentation of Agred's "Emancipation," will be City Commissioner Cesar De Leon.
Refreshments and food willbe served. There is no charge to enter.

Its sounds a nice stoy, smthieng to lear, defnetly Ill be there
accepting that you were part of the gorillas and that participated in act terrorism in el Salvodor is an abomination and an insult.
You and or your group called fmln were terrorist and participated in kidnappings, extortion and assassinations of civilians and US Marines... and now you are here trying to collect funds and or Money for your so called story... Shame on you!!!!!!!!!!
the guerrillas carried out kidnappings, bombings and bank robberies during the 1970s to support their revolutionary dreams.
During the 1980s, the FMLN killed several mayors, informants and traitors, all crimes under the rules of war. There are also strong indications that the guerrillas began to rely more on terrorist tactics during the late 1980s.
There are also strong indications that the guerrillas used terrorist tactics more frequently during the later years of the war, alienating many Salvadorans and causing rifts with the democratic Left. Panelists also spoke about the systematic use of repression by the FPL in San Vicente. Violence against civilians perpetrated by the FMLN has often been dismissed as the actions of drunken commanders, or with the not-so-convincing argument that "the other side was worse". My impression is that most academics are also sympathetic towards the FMLN, and are not as interested in studying how the organisation used repressive tactics. As a result, we know much less about the FMLN's use of violence and its effect on postwar support for the party.
Google!!!!!!!!!! Much more on google.....
The U.S. Supported military juntas who killed and suppressed their own people.
After the US provided military aid to the government of El Salvador, the FMLN was forced to shift strategies and wage fully-asymmetrical warfare. The whole movement trimmed its size, reorganized into smaller units more conducive to guerrilla warfare, and moved into urban areas, especially San Salvador. In the last half of the 1980s, the FMLN employed terrorist tactics such as kidnappings, arson, and bombings to destabilize the regime. Due to the substantial influence that American financial support had on strengthening El Salvador's counterinsurgency prowess, US assets in El Salvador also became targets during this time. Notably, four US Marine security guards were massacred at a roadside café in June 1985.
Do not play innocent lady, You were part of a terrorist group and i am surprised that the US has let you and your group in this country, as Normal immigration law would prohibit any member of a terrorist group to come into this county and for that any other that is a democratic country. As you have been part or have participated in a group that inflicted harm to civilians.
