Special to El Rrun-Rrun
Dear Mr. Editor, the following is an open letter to Cameron County taxpayers and to Pct. 4 commissioner (and now county judge candidate) Dan Sanchez.
Recently, commissioner Dan Sanchez announced he will run for county judge. He really didn't say why. But his campaign signs state that he will be "Continuing to Serve With Proven Results."
Well, we in the north and northwest part of this county have our differences with that. We think that it's more about his own political ambition and desire than to "continue" the dismal level of services to the public he has given to our residents here.
Taxpayers should know that in striving for a county position that pays more and has more benefits, it also places unbridled power in the hands of his family since his brother David is also a district judge and has been campaigning for him against the canons of the Texas Judicial Code of Ethics.
Or perhaps he's not happy with his commissioner's post which he has turned into a part-time job and feels put out that the residents of his precinct are demanding more of him? Even some of his fellow commissioners are said to have lost respect for him because he spends most of his time out of the county and has missed some very important votes that affect his precinct but could prove controversial. The vote on the current budget comes to mind. It seems he would rather walk out than face important decisions he might feel could endanger his political ambitions.
Up here in the northern part of the county, we know that he has lost the respect of county employees and wonder why he is seeking asking taxpayers to pay him for a job not well done. People in these rural areas feel he has forgotten them and feel left out.
The conditions of or roads and drainage issues go unaddressed as do the calls from his constituents. Apparently, he has been too busy attending to his lawyer's duties to answer our calls. Then, after he campaigns to give him another term, he quits the position to run for another office. The people who trusted his promises in 2014 are left high and dry, What if he gets elected county judge and then – when things get rough – he decides to run for a higher office, say state representative? Can he be trusted? You be the judge.

I live in the Harlingen area and Dan Sanchez is NEVER in his office. He has his assistant return all his calls. I have called for Dan several times and never returns my calls. He needs to make up his mind to either take care of his office or work full-time as an attorney like he is already. We will remember him during the election and believe me, we will NOT vote for Dan ever again!!!!
He only wants the County Judge position for the legal referral fees he can collect and do nothing for. Same as Eddie Trevino. Just for their own enrichment!
A good pair of cool arrows this Dan and eddie been in politics too long time for a change I voting the other candidate in the democratic party just hope she turns out better than these two jokers. since we don't have a republican candidate we don't have another choice
me me me me me that's all dans ever thinks about just look at the size of the squatch, hell im not going to work just want another job with better pay that's all folks
Eddie Trevino is unapproachable!! Thinks he is all that and a bag of chips !! I would never vote for such an arrogant person
All of our elected officials and candidates have egoes.. That includes all our judges, mayors, county commissioners Trevino and Dan Sanchez. There egoes make them arrogant sometimes but not always. I was at the December 15 county commissioner meeting. There were many elected officials there including court judges. Look at the video of the county commissioner meeting of December 15 and you will know for sure who the most arrogant disrespectful candidate is. Sanchez made fun of his consituents that did not see eye to eye with him. He could not control himself and instead decided to ridicule and mock them after the public comment. That is arrogance that should not be allowed to represent any of us. You should have thick skin Mr. Sanchez. I worry for those county employees that do not follow Sanchez orders or who have not ever had Sanchez tell them "NO!". It is the ugliest, rudest, disrespectful way of talking to county employees or anyone. Upload the video Montoya.
Dan Sanchez is an embarrassment to Cameron County. Do we really want a morbidly obese County Judge to represent us??? Any meeting he goes to would have to have special seating for 400 pounds of his big ass. Dan Sanchez is a heart attack waiting to happen.
All you crybabies about Dan and his wanting money? Yet, you dumbasses in Brownsville continue to vote for the likes of Pete Sepulveda who makes over quarter of million and numerous conflicts of interest with some of the contracts he has with certain companies. Then you have that other CROOK, Tony Yzaguirre who wants us to believe that he didn't know about one of his employees being a convicted felon or that his employees were involved in a scam selling houses and then giving an employees family member the registration business? Everybody is in for the money, its just who is more crooked than the others, you fucking dumbasses!
Then you have the uneducated idiot in Chino Sanchez running for an office that he has no business running for or has any idea how it is run. He's just another Joe Cisneros who is running for the money that he collects from the campaign contributions like he did for Harlingen city commissioner. The white boys in Harlingen told him to take a hike since they don't need him anymore for votes that favored the "white clan" in Harlingen. Why did he have to disclose a previous felony charge? I understand that this was done in secrecy and with the assistance of Louis Saenz? The proof is still out there since the pendejo just disclosed it recently.
Fuck you too ashole
