(Ed.'s Note: Two days ago, one of our five readers sent us a photo wondering why a county vehicle was at Sunrise Mall and on what possible business a county worker could have there. Now we learn that the same truck operated by Pct. 1 Asst. Administrator Gabino Vasquez was parked in the handicapped ramp spaces (as can be clearly seen by the signage) at the Cameron County Dancy Building on Madison. Lest we have any doubts, that's Gabino in the top graphic in his three-gallon cowboy hat making his way to it on the right behind one of the handicapped sign posts. As can be clearly seen, there are plenty of unrestricted spaces where he could have parked, but the handiucapped sign is closer to the doors.
Many of us have put up with the inconvenience of parking a few spaces away from the handicapped parking spaces just in case a person with a disability arrives while we are inside or are held up for some reason. Aside from showing that courtesy, it is also the law and the offense carries a heavy fine. Additionally, it is up to administrators to set an example for others to follow the law. Does it apply to everyone? We thank our readers for keeping them honest.)

I remember seeing Gavino in the last election putting up Mary Esther and Jonathan Gracias political signs during county time & county vehicle and now recently sofias signs as well.

Last campaign season I caught him and his son stealing Erin's signs. I told her about it, but she didn't report it. She said no one would do anything to him. Was she right? Is this asshole above the law?

I often see crews doing jobs. I live way down southmost by Palm Grove, I see the younger men working and the old farts on the trucks. These men should get together and talk to Sofia about the injustice, plan it out and bring it up in one of her meetings in front of public and board members. She will then have to put those lazies to work or give them pink slips. My husband wanted to apply there but told me he would not last for speaking up.
