Well, after we posted about Cameron County District Attorney Luis V. Saenz's ad in the local daily saying that he was trusted by no less than James Comey, the Director of the FBI, one of our seven readers sent us the photo originally used by Saenz in his Facebook page May 1, 2015.In it, Saenz doesn't say anything about regaining the feds' trust as he does in the his newspaper ad. In fact, the post in his Facebook page only states that Comey had "expressed great interest in the violence occurring across the border and in assisting us in fighting corruption."
"They met again in McAllen to discuss border violence and spillover issues," the reelection campaign ad asserted.
Nowhere in the ad did it say that Saenz was one of scores, if not hundreds of prosecutors, police chiefs, sheriffs, and other law enforcement officers who were invited to open the new FBI office in McAllen.
Out of that chance photo-op, Saenz asserts that now the Director of the FBI trusts him. Oh, yeah, and "You Can Trust Him Too!"
Now, we're sure that Comey didn't travel to South Texas just to meet with Luis and compare notes on the ongoing travails of border residents. And we're doubly sure that Comey wouldn't appreciate that Saenz is basically claiming his endorsement for his reelection campaign.
Saenz really should be more worried about not making any such grandiose claims about his cozy relationship with the FBI director before he loses the little trust he has left among the voters of Cameron County.

How do you know your family will vote for Saenz....are you filling out their ballot. Sounds like someone who is a lawyer or has a spouse who is lawyer getting cases (money) from Saenz office. There are lawyers out there that depend on the the DA's cases to make a living. And, "...we don't bother with haters and smack".....what does that shit mean. People, this year you have a choice for DA that is not part of the status quo of Cameron County: His name is Jeremy Sorelle.
With Luis Saenz and Carlos Masso, we know we will get what we've always gotten -- the compadre system that works for them and their friends, not us citizens.
When Luis Saenz had maquintas to sell, who did he call? Carlos Masso. What the hell is a DA candidate doing involved with confiscated gambling machines? These two are not adversaries, they are part of the corruption in this county and will scratch each others backs in backroom deals unless we voters put an end to it.
Jeremy Sorelle has no such alliances. He is as appalled at the corruption in this county that goes unprosecuted as you and me. If you want more of the same corruption and incompetence. vote Saenz or Masso.

I will vote for Luis Saenz because I believe him to be more of the DA then Carlos Masso, who is a nice guy but doesn't know how to distance himself from the likes of convicted felons, very questionable people and having family who are convicted felons and questionable family members involved in illegal activity.

Saenz brought this on himself, by never prosecuting corruption.
I recall the Herald wrote, back when the 2012 politiquera indictments were issued, that the politiqueras were organized and paid to help several candidates, including a candidate for DA. Given that two politiqueras were sentenced to prison are now working for Masso again, it is a fair bet that the candidate they were working for in 2012 was Masso.
Why has Saenz not indicted Masso for hiring these politiqueras? Why did the little guys get sentenced to prison but the big league candidates never had to answer? Saenz let Erin and Norma off the hook, and now they are backing Masso too.
It's his own fault, when he loses this race. HE let the corrupt walk free, if Saenz thought that would buy their loyalty remember no honor among theives.

I don't remember seeing anything in the FBI reports about Luis Saenz taking money to fix a case? I know that there is reports on two of the Tony Y auto task force officers taking money from a Lucio who owned car lots? Then there's a report on that itty-bitty shit in Dan Robles who took money or favors from his ex-partner Jim Solis to benefit from a case that he got convicted on? Should I go on for you?
I think you misunderstood my post.....I'm not defending anyone, matter of fact, I think just about all elected officials are corrupt . ....just happens that Saenz is one of the worst examples . You are correct , the incident I'm referring to happened in the Villalobos trial, not in the Limas trial.Justice Dept.brought the guy to testify , claimed to have paid Saenz 1000 dollars .
